Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsWe had to call to get the gate code, that could have been in the email. We did not have a front door key so could not let ourselves in at night and also had to call for that. It was fine though, minor things.
We were the only guests, they only rent out one room in the fall. So it felt very personal and luxurious. The room was spacious and had a bathtub, breakfast was very nice with home made jams. The terrain looked beautiful, old trees and a lot of little flowers.

United KingdomThis Chateau was a pleasure to stay in being set in very nice countryside and nicely furnished inside. The hosts were very hospitable and the breakfast was very good. A fallen tree across the very long drive in a recent storm made for a small detour across the adjacent field a necessity. Our room was large and very comfortable as was the bathroom.

FranceWhat a great place. When you turn from busy N7 into the small road, you would not imagine how peaceful and secluded the Chateau is, following the small private road for another kilometer or so. The rooms are lovingly decorated, overlooking the fields and lake around. The hosts are very welcoming and the breakfast is beyond the usual French B&B offering. We arrived by bicycle and could safely store the bikes overnight.

NetherlandsYou need to call the Chateau for the access code at the gate.
A one night stop on my way from the north towards Nevers (fantastic highway)... Warm welcome, nice people, good room, good bathroom, room with a view on forest and lake, very good breakfast, great place to spend one or more nights. Why take a standard hotel if you can have a special experience with this chateau and these nice people. Good value for money but more importantly: a nice experience that adds colour to your life :).

NetherlandsIt would have been nice to have had an English news channel on the television.
We loved the size of the room. It was carefully appointed with all the necessities as well as some luxuries like bathrobes. Breakfast was served in a beautiful room facing the garden. The breakfast itself was a delicious spread of freshly baked croissant, baguette with homemade fruit jams, homemade crepes and chocolate cake.

United KingdomWe stayed for one night at the amazing Château de Praslins in a family room (with our two children). Very comfortable and spacious with a stunning view of the lake and forest. Thank you so much to our wonderful hosts, Marie-Ange and Jacques who made us feel so welcome. The breakfast was probably one of the finest we've had anywhere. Crepes (a big hit with the kids), delicious cakes, croissants, homemade jams...an amazing spread, served in a beautiful, grand room. We took a walk in the forest around the lake before leaving. It was the perfect stop-over during our journey south that has given us very happy memories, and we'd stay again without hesitation. Thank you!

Hong KongYou must pay attention to the instruction from the owner to access to this chateau which is about 600m from the public road.
We enjoyed our short stay in this well perserved chateau in a quiet and beautiful environment. The breakfast is very good with home-made jam and crepe on a grand dinning table in a detailed decoration room. We enjoy the the 'small' forest within the chateau, we made a nice and pleasure morning walk in there, it is amazing.

United KingdomFor me the bed and pillows could have been a little more harder, however it did not stop me going to sleep straight away. Something that is a personal preference and others may enjoy the soft mattress.
The chateaux was immaculate, in beautiful grounds and very quite. Breakfast was excellent, fresh and local produce, presented in a lovely setting.
