Parking is hard if you can’t reserve a place in the hotel carpark and we booked 2 months in advance!

Right in the centre of La Rochelle near the old port. The hotel was perfectly located , buffet breakfast was delicious and we ate out in a near by restaurant in the evening Dog friendly stop on the way back to the ferry

Location was great, room and bed comfy. There were, however, building works going on, which we had not been made aware of. Lighting was being changed outside our room. Old lighting had been removed but no replacement lighting installed - we couldn’t even see the door to our room so it was all by touch! Not ideal…

A little tray in the shower to place your toiletries would be handy 😃

Staff very welcoming, professional, efficient and knowledgeable. A rare thing these days!!! Hotel is beautifully decorated, everything new and clean. All facilities work well; shower for example is great! Tea & coffee making machine was very welcome too; a real treat! Breakfast great!! Mike’s better than all the other hotels we stayed at during our 2 weeks car tour of France! Very well done Hotel St Nicolas! We will be back for sure 👍

Unfortunately there was some building work going on and they started early in the morning (woke up to drilling!). A fridge in the room would be advantageous. Still very warm in October

Great location in a lovely town. Outdoor and indoor relaxing/sitting areas. Had a great feel - decoration, music, general atmosphere. Good breakfast, nice rooms/bathroom.

Being told that I was sitting at an ‘undressed’ table when I asked for cutlery (almost like it’s your fault for choosing a free table of your choice) and they brought it right away. But when you go to France you are prepared for these type of comments :) this does not impact our view of the staff at all, they’re really nice people.

The staff was incredibly nice, the hotel feels and looks more like a 4 star than a 3 star in terms of facilities, decor, architecture. Breakfast is quite rich, from protein to french cheese and many jam/honey options. The location is superb! We were sad we couldn’t stay longer and enjoy the hotel!

Room was so small and didn’t relate to either price or description. Balcony was size of a broom cupboard, overlooking dining room!

If there would have been more plant pots outside the entrance on the little square and more tables and chairs to give it a coffee shop feel it would have enticed us to stay and have a coffee with cake or sandwich. Maybe it normally is the case in the Summer, we went early October.

The staff was friendly, car park was great in the hotel ground and walking to the harbour was short distance. Great location and I would stay again for sure if I ever go to La Rochelle again. I am usually a 4-5 star hotel person, but this was great and could be a 4-star if it had small fridge and bath tub in the room we stayed in.

The air conditioning unit was a bit temperamental and the room was colder than we would have liked. A minor issue.
