Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The hotel is in an industrial zone which is in development. The facade of the hotel looks terrible and makes you wonder why you picked this hotel.
This hotel is a good stop for one night traveling further, North or South. It has had an upgrade inside which makes it a good place to stay a night. It is simple but not overly simple. French modern, no nonsense. What needs to be OK, is OK: room size, bed quality, cleanliness and bathroom. Friendly and helpful staff. Superior breakfast. And, ... dogs allowed! The hotel is easy to reach from the highway and the outside car park is gated and has CCTV.

We've used this hotel for many years as an overnight stop on the way back to the UK from Southern France. Nicely positioned just North of Paris and easy to get off and back on the motorway (off about 3 miles south of the hotel and back on three miles north of the hotel). Easy to find, comfortable rooms, very secure parking.

The evening meal was a little disappointing, (duck breast was a little tough).
Fabulous hotel used as a stopover en-route to Disney Land Paris. 10 minutes from motorway with secure gated parking. Room was 1st class. Plenty of choice for breakfast.

Corridor carpets had some stains. It's a long way from the centre of Compiegne.
Handy location if you're driving through France. Restaurant is good. Rooms have windows you can open. Ventilation in common areas like the restaurant is excellent: CO2 was about 500ppm.

It's quite a way out of town if you want to do something apart from sit in your hotel room. For an overnight stop driving on holiday it was great.
You can switch off the ventilation and open the window, so no infection risk from recirculated air. Restaurant was really good, with outside seating.

Maybe needs a bit of updating compared to the last Mercure hotel we stayed in but still had a good night with nice meal in restaurant. Staff very friendly and helpful. Bed very comfortable.

The only quibble - be very careful if you are choosing an option marked vegetarian on the restaurant menu. The vegetable tart for example is actually made with sardines...! After complaining about this we were not charged but the menu and its labelling need an overhaul.
The dowdy outside of the hotel is deceptive. Inside it is spacious, modern and very pleasant. It has places to work near the bar and restaurant. It also has a gated car park. It is outside of town so there is not much of interest nearby but if you are stopping off for a night for example it is an excellent choice. If you have time and are interested there are some very interesting things to see in Compiègne including the museum and monument of the 1918 and 1940 armistices and the former Nazi internment and deportation camp.

it would have been better if the local tax payable was flagged up to be paid when we checked in rather than on the way out as we thought we had pre paid our bill. However, the staff member dealt with it very well and there was no issue.
