Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThere was nothing I didn't like.
Location was in a quiet street but close to the centre of Avignon. Railway and bus station were just a few minutes walk away. Relaxed breakfast times. Staff were very friendly and there was always someone on the front desk. We were given a map of the city upon arrival.

SpainBedroom a little dated and bed small and needs renewing. Totally acceptable though but maybe a tiny bit pricey comparing to other places. That said, we'd choose this hotel again over the plusher places in town hands down thanks to the staff and welcome which we rate much higher.
The staff, in particular Philippe! Incredible welcome and front of house facilities including free teas, coffee, library, social area... The breakfast was the best we had in two weeks. Philippe went out especially to get some delicious gluten free bread for me. Boil your own eggs. Something for everyone. Thanks so much for that, France is tricky for people with allergies :-) We'd come back!

United KingdomOne light wasn't working and we had difficulty with the flush - a maintenace issue - but it didn't spoil our stay.
This is a lovely, cool, period hotel with marble staircase, a piano in the lobby and historical and theatrical frames throughout. Philippe at the reception couldn't do enough for us - he was everything you want in the front-of-the-house team. Reception also had free drinks (with ice machine - much appreciated when it's 38°c!) and a little library (in French). I enjoyed a BD on the history of Avignon whilst sipping a local lemon sirop. Breakfast was a buffet - à volonté - with something for everyone and more than enough to last the day. The location was excellent - 2 minutes from the main high streetand Old Town. Plus we had a parking space for our stay inside the hotel grounds so no nasty parking fees. Do check on the day though as places are limited - the nearer to check-out time (11.30am) you arrive, the better. Our room (the family room) had a balcony too and was next to a first floor rooftop garden which looked across to a medieval religious building.

United KingdomQuite dated. We had a balcony but you had to climb out the window to use it so we didn't. Small shower towels. No drink facilities in the room.
Good air conditioning. Friendly staff. Well stocked breakfast. Comfortable bed. Walking distance to main attractions (Avingnon is relatively small). Hot and cold drinks facilities downstairs.

AustraliaThe shower was a bit more on the small side and the door of the shower didn’t close properly. Not a big issue, but annoying.
We loved the terrace. The location is great as it’s in a quiet street but very close to the Main Street and all the activity

United KingdomNothing. Good value.
Location was excellent, just inside the city limits. Accommodation was fine. Adequate for two nights stay. Room clean and tidy. Buffet breakfast was acceptable but a little expensive. Parking was available at rear entrance but payable. On street parking is available but more expensive. Small area by reception with free coffee and tea facility was nice. Staff very good. Enjoyed our stay.
