Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. The rooms were a little on the small side as was our bathroom, tripped over the bed everytime we entered the room.
For our first time in Paris the location was perfect, God selection of bars and restaurants within the area.

Shower had no attachment so had to be held. Nowhere to hang towels in bathroom, nor soap rack in shower. Noisy doors at night. Room just too small.
Breakfast excellent and free because of some disruption during the day due to renovations. Staff helpful and friendly. Location excellent.

The room was a little small, but excellent value for Paris.
A fantastic location just a few minutes walk from the Eiffel Tower, surrounded by elegant buildings, a network of shops, restaurants and it felt oh so parisienne.

The hotel was small, with very narrow spaces, making it difficult to move around. It felt unsafe, with the room posing several hazards, particularly the bathroom. Additionally, there were no safety signs in case of an emergency. The staff was rude, and for a place that calls itself a hotel, they lacked basic hospitality. From the moment I arrived, I experienced zero warmth or friendliness. Over the course of my stay, I interacted with three different receptionists, and none of them were welcoming or approachable. For instance, if I didn't greet them first with a "Good morning" or "Good evening," they wouldn't acknowledge me at all. We also had issues with the air conditioning, and when we sought assistance from the receptionist, he simply told us to open the window if it wasn’t working. The cleanliness of the room left much to be desired, with dust causing me to develop a sore throat. The breakfast was subpar; the crepes were dry and tasted like leftovers from the previous day, and the same dish was served the next day. If you arrived early for breakfast, you might get pastries, ham, and yogurt, but if you came an hour after breakfast started, you'd be lucky to get anything other than coffee, as they didn’t refill the buffet. The woman serving breakfast was unprofessional, often on her phone when guests needed assistance. On one occasion, she seated us at a dirty table, and we had to ask her to clean it. Another time, she used her hands to wipe the table down for another guest to sit. The overall experience was disappointing and far from what I expected from a hotel.

Stephane is an excellent manager, so helpful and friendly. He helped my son organise flowers and chocolates for my birthday 🎉 no request is too much, recommendations for trips and restaurants etc. The room was spotless and the bed super comfortable..shout out too to Lina.

The hotel was incredibly dirty due to an active renovation. Drywall dust tracked into our room and throughout the lobby everyday.

I booked this hotel weeks in advance because of its location , upon checking in I was told that due to renovations I had to stay in their sister hotel 3 kilometers away from my preferred location. This was a huge disappointment, despite of them arranging for a free taxi and free breakfast. Extremely disappointed!

They had renovations going our whole stay. Constant drilling from 8am onwards up until 1am in the morning. Absolute joke of a hotel.
