Good location, welcoming staff and nice atmosphere. Below average breakfast, small rooms and medium hygiene

First of all, the room size is very very small with no fridge and no water. If you need a bottle of water you need to ask the staff to fill one for you. The second bad thing is the very limited breakfast with no omlet for example, one coffee machine and you need to wait in a queue to get your cup of coffee. The third I didn’t like is the number of toilet papers they put everyday, just one roll and if you need more you got to ask for it

The best thing about the property is its location. It is in the middle of Lyon surrounded by many famous brands stores and few restaurants. Another good thing about it is the Staff who were very welcoming and nice with me. i liked its atmosphere, it is nice and comfortable

You should redo your bathrooms. Bathtubs are obsolete these days. They are a water waste and difficult to access for elderly and/or physically disabled people. A good shower would be sufficient. You should add some hooks on the walls for clothes and towels. There should also be a place or shelf for toiletries and cosmetics. At breakfast more fruit and some fat-free yogurt would be welcome.

The location is great and so is the restaurant with its terrace.

Little space in room for luggage and no drawers. Other than a small hanging area, we had to live out if our suitcases and walk around them on the floor. Also I expected more amenities such as toiletries in bathroom.

Outstanding location close to all tourist attractions. Service was excellent. Hotel and room was very clean. Decor was quite modern and hip.

You have to leave your key at the desk every time you leave the hotel and you just give your room number to get it back when you return— not very high security. That being said, there were no problems and it was a very nice place.

On the booking.com website the hotel was advertised as having Parking. In fact it does not have parking . The staff however were very helpful in suggesting alternative public paying car parks. They also allowed us to unload and reload our luggage outside the hotel on the street.

The hotel is rundown and hasn't been renovated in a long time. It feels dirty and uncomfortable. Old amenities are a fire hazard and not sustainable because they use too much electricity. Bathrooms are small and in a bad shape. Awkwardly, my closet was inside the bathroom and I couldn't use it so I kept my clothes in the room.

The location was fantastic in the elegant shopping centre, close to everything important in the city. The hotel is visually beautiful, transporting you to bygone times. You get a rare chance to stay at a truly quintessential Lyonaisse building for a reasonable price. Sustainability practices such as serving water in reusable bottles is fantastic.

Stayed here before for a few days in autumn 2022, and enjoyed stay greatly, including easy walking access from Perrache train station and to city; also very fine breakfast. When we had a night in Lyon this month in transit from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean coast by train, we did not hesitate to return to Globe et Cecil.

Perhaps three things: 1. the room's air conditioner broke down and, although the staff moved quickly to get a repairman, it was a weekend and no one would come, so I made do with a fan (which was actually preferable to me); 2. I didn't like the "low-flow" taps on the sinks, which sprayed in all directions; 3. the optional in-house buffet breakfast looked skimpy to me, so I did not partake (but everything looked fresh and tasty).

I liked the look and feel of the hotel, both inside and out, as well as the homey feeling that comes from the owner's low-key dog sleeping under a chair in the lounge. But the front desk personnel are the ones who really made my stay an excellent experience. When I arrived, I asked for an interior room in the back and got not only the interior room but also a free upgrade. The room had what appeared to be a newly redone bathroom with two sinks. The receptionists were always friendly and helpful (esp the Spanish one). Finally, the hotel has an excellent location in a district with many upscale shops and reasonably priced restaurants. The Spanish receptionist referred me to one of my two favorite restaurants during my stay; it was not in any guide book (Le Comptoir des Marronniers). The maid was very hardworking and kept my room spic and span. Place Bellecour is a block away and Gare Perrache is about 10" away by taxi (or 20" walking). Vieux Lyon is about 15" away in another direction.

Authentique boutique hotel in the center of Lyon. Perfect location to visit the city, close to shops, restaurants and metro. Very friendly staff and eco-friendly. I visit Lyon regularly and always check if Globe et Cécil is available for a good price (sometimes the price can be extraordinarily high)
