We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.

United StatesOur stay at L’Effrontée was absolutely perfect. I read all of the reviews and looked at all of the pictures, but it exceeded my expectations, and I would definitely recommend it and return every time. The host, Mathieu, was so very kind, thoughtful, thorough, and also quite talented with his cooking! When we first arrived, he offered us drinks outside, and the lemonade was made fresh from his own lemon tree. The grounds were gorgeous, and we loved our room in Le Magnolia Suite. The room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable (slept so well each night), the sitting area was such a nice place to relax, and the bathroom was also nice with everything we needed. I didn’t expect our room to be cleaned each day, and since the weather was a little chilly, the heater made it perfect each evening and morning. Breakfast was also a highlight with all of the assortments and Mathieu also offering anything extra you may want. Homemade jams and yogurt were delicious, as were the baked goods and his delicious French Toast, and all the food was displayed beautifully. He also helped us with deciding what to do and provided printed information as well. He suggested the waterfalls, Cascade du Salt du Loup, Gourdon, and Grasse and we loved visiting these places. We hadn’t planned on going there, and we were so happy we did! Our special highlight was sweet Floopy, the adorable dog, who greeted us every time we came back, and we especially loved when he visited us in our room. We were also lucky to meet Eliott, the cat, the real owner of the house. Mathieu and Cedric were wonderful hosts, and I am grateful that they shared their place with us.

United KingdomL'Effrontee is stunning place to stay, a little Gem.. so beautiful!! and Mathieu, Cedric an Lucy welcomed us with open arms. We shared a family meal on the terrace and it was so nice to be able to chat and enjoy lovely homemade food. Even all the preserves and the breakfasts were delicious with nice daily specials made by Mathieu. The house is very stylish and an oasis of peace and calm, with wonderful views from our bedroom window. Transfer from the airport was so smooth and well organised, we opted not to have a car, Mathieu organised a taxi for us to visit St Paul De Vence and gave us lots of suggestions where to visit in the village. The swimming pool is also so gorgeous and the dragonflies we fun to watch zooming around the gardens, nothing was too much trouble. a lovely piece of heaven, it provided us with a wonderful relaxing break after a tough 7 months, don't hesitate to book. We will be back again.

The location was a short walk to the quaint village of Tourrettes Sur Loup, although a little far from Nice it was a perfect departing point to drive to Gorge du Verdon. It was a small, lovely, gated property with a beautiful pool. The main house rooms and bedrooms were comfy and decorated to perfection. Mathieu was an accommodating host and went out of his way to help us retrieve our bags from the airlines. He gave us great recommendations for sight seeing and restaurants. Homemade breakfast was wonderful with savory, sweet, and fresh fruit, much more than a continental and many refills on coffee!!! Porch setting for breakfast was peaceful, scenic, and relaxing. Floopy the adorable Yorkie won our heats!!!

DenmarkNext time we will rent a Car. A stay can easily be done without one, as the city and restaurents are within a short walking distance, but the freedom and opportunities are just a little easier with a car or bicycles.
It's not often you stumble upon such a unique and fantastic place as L’effrontee. The location, the house, the view and the pool (and the smell of lavender) are absolutely wonderful. But the cornerstone of this undertaking is the warm-hearted, caring and inclusive family; Mathieu, Cédric and Lucy. ….. and don’t forget to try Mathieu’s authentic and tasteful cooking🤗

AustraliaThere was absolutely nothing we would change about our stay! It was perfect in every way!
We spent a memorable 10 nights at the beautiful L’ Effrontée BnB during May 2024. Anyone looking to have a relaxing and well positioned stay in the Cote d’ Azure I urge you to consider the wonderful L’ Effrontée minutes outside of the charming town of Tourettes Sur Loup. The host Mathieu, warmly welcomes all of his guests to feel right at home in his stunning stone residence and lounge in the surroundings of the perfectly kept gardens and pool deck areas. The breakfast included in the stay is an absolute highlight of Mathieu’s hospitality. Every morning between 8-10am a freshly prepared spread of fruit, coffee, juice, baguettes, croissant, cheeses and a changing daily special awaits on the outdoor patio area. Being that L’ Effrontée has only 3 guest rooms, it never feels over run or crowded. We stayed in the upstairs Momosa suite which had beautiful views towards the mountains and the coastline in the distance. Mathieu is a talented chef and can prepare delicious meals for dinner for his guests for a set cost on request. We also loved spending time with their little dog Floopy who enjoys hanging out at breakfast time and chilling out on the pool deck in the sun.

Denmarkno thing, only the weather :-)
Our experience at L'Effrontée was truly wonderful, despite the less-than-ideal weather. Mathieu, our gracious host, played a significant role in making our stay memorable. The rooms were not only exceptionally clean but also exuded a delightful charm. The breakfast served was of the highest quality, leaving us thoroughly satisfied. The convenience of their private parking made our stay even more enjoyable, and the proximity to the city made exploring on foot a breeze. The pool area was a standout feature, providing a serene and inviting space. Mathieu's assistance in securing a restaurant reservation and offering valuable suggestions for activities added a personalized touch to our visit. With such a positive experience, we are eager to return to L'Effrontée in the future.

L’Effrontee was simply gorgeous , a wonderful house and a wonderful host, Mattieux ! The house is tucked away in the hills surrounding Tourettes sur Loup with an easy 10 minute walk into the village. Upon arrival we were greeted by the host Mattieux and his little dog, Floppy, absolutely adorable. Mattieux is very, very nice and accommodating, he feels like an old friend. We were briefed about the house and then we had a welcome cocktail by the pool. The house is so tastefully decorated, as is the pool area and the rest of the garden. It was our last 2 nights in Provence so we just wanted to relax and we did just that, lounging by the pool, having a delicious lunch, ice ream and drinks. Our host suggested excursions and recommended several restaurants in the village, one of which we visited the first evening. The last evening we opted for the ” host dinner ” with Mattieux, his very nice mother and the other couple who was staying at L’ Effrontte,. Food was delicious, a 3 course dinner with drinks and pree cocktails!! It was by far the nicest evening we had during our holiday, Mattiuex being a wonderful host.As was his mother, a lady with a wicked sense of humor! All in all we had the best stay imaginable and we will be back for sure!

Beautiful building in a very calm area that is still very close to several amazing smaller old towns but also eg Nice. The rooms and shared areas are super stylish, the whole property is visually very pleasing. The rooms are quite big, definitely spacious enough. The property also had an amazing pool and area to sunbathe combined with a perfectly kept garden. The host is incredibly welcoming and warm, he takes amazing good care of the guests. United StatesNothing not to love
Once in a while you get to stay at a B&B that is the result of a dream and vision of the owner. This is one of those magical places. It is evident in the details of beauty, comfort and downright swank of every corner and view. The hotel is a short drive from Nice and easy walking distance to a tiny ancient village with lovely restaurants. That being said, Matthew is a chef and breakfast was to die for. We loved the family hosting us and their graciousness. I WILL be back and I'm bringing some friends! This time Matthew will do at least one dinner by the pool please and I won't forget to make reservations at My Ami Paul's. Can't say enough!

Mathieu was the perfect host, so warm and friendly and incredibly helpful, making reservations at restaurants for us and advising us of things to do and see in the area.
