Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomYou arrive in a car park with no clear visible signage to the reception.( The building to the left ! ) When we were finally re directed to the reception the hostess (Natalie) seemed disinterested in checking us in and was very abrupt. Upon trying to reserve a table for dinner the same hostess completely ignored our attempts to distract her from her mobile phone while she wandered the car park. The evening dinner is in the original mill building and was a very sombre affair. The food was very good but slow to arrive.
The location and property are exceptional, The room was very clean and good value. The food is very good

SwitzerlandIt’s a hidden hotel with a Michelin restaurant. Unfortunately there is no WiFi anywhere and no signal for your phone as well. The room is outdated. Need to improve the cleaning I think. The staff is nice. Just with out WiFi and signal can be bit of challenge.

United KingdomThis was the third time we have stayed there. This time the service at the table for dinner was dreadful. A very nice waiter who was worked off his feet. We were very tired after a long drive and had to wait a ridiculous amount of time for food and drink
The most beautiful tranquil place

United KingdomAlthough the bedding and bathrooms were clean, the place is very tired with shabby carpets and is in need of a general good clean throughout. It can also take quite a while for someone to respond in the accommodation building, and service at dinner was very slow.
The food was lovely. We have stayed on previous occasions and returned because we enjoyed the food so much.

United KingdomThere is no air conditioning and no fans provided in the rooms - it was uncomfortably hot and stuffy. The hotels large and unwashed shaggy dog drooled, barked and begged at every table. I didn't like it's face being close to my plate when trying to eat. It did this at every table, following the food around - other diners looked equally uncomfortable. They need to sort this out.
A lovely location and an old mill house with accompanying newer development for the rooms. The lake which feeds the (non working) waterwheels is quite magical. We sat after breakfast and watched an otter swim past - as well as 3 or 4 King Fishers working the lake.

United Kingdomjust the breakfast but that is just a personal thing. it wasnt bad just not our preference.
excellent dinner terrific food and great service, but breakfast not great value for money but we had a large room with a private terrace, an extremely comfortable bed in a beautiful and quiet location and it was a wonderful place to stay after a long journey. on satnav it was easy to find and it was away from all traffic and noise and beautiful for walks. we would definitely stay again and the lady who was in charge was really lovely and the staff were extremely polite and friendly. they have a beautiful mountain dog like a St Bernard, who is gentle and adorable. she just wanders around the gardens, and comes and sits with anyone who wants to pet her. she is gentle and lovely We had a small dog and they were extremely good and accommodating and we were able to take him for long walks. Altogether a lovely experience. thanks.
