How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

There v was a lot of noise outside the window. In the morning it was workers and at night it was loud people walking by. The curtains did not block the light too well.
The room was clean and comfortable and a good size. There was a refrigerator in the room. Apparently there was br e aghast included but we found out too late.

Hotel is difficult to find on the first attempt in the dark. Tip: Do a thorough Google maps search beforehand. Google maps 'on foot' selection was very useful
The central location made easy access to the various attractions of the old city.

Bath/shower combination is not our choice. Not much else to mention. We were happy with the hotel.
Central and a good sized room. Very friendly and accommodating staff despite our lack of French language. Lots of places near the hotel to get a good coffee in the morning. we were on the top floor so the steps were a good workout up and down. Windows that open also a plus.....fresh air is nice.

breakfast was minimal. I would have appreciated a better selection of cheeses and fruits. Scrambled eggs would be enjoyed, but different fruits and cheeses definitely. our room did not provide a shower curtain. Consequently the entire floor of the bathroom and a bit outside got wet. having hand towels would helpful.

People were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Happy to accommodate extending my stay by one night and juggled bookings to do it. Gave some great recommendations for restaurants to eat at.

The window in the bathroom didn't actually shut which was fine when the weather was warm but when it was windy, it had to be wedged with cardboard.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the location was absolutely perfect.

We were not warned of renovations going on until we arrived to stay. The noise was not a problem as it was during the day. But the air was very very dusty and not good for asthma sufferers like myself. Or indeed anyone.
Perfect location! Around the corner from the Popes’ palace. And down a quiet laneway near everything. Friendly staff. Small but lovely room.

Courtyard smokers smoke drifted up into rooms when windows were open. In the summer you want to have fresh air. Clean filter more frequently on air conditioning unit. Bathroom shower needs more shelves and hooks. Tiny refrigerator should be off the ground. Hallway lights should stay on longer.

Location was great. We had a few minor problems with our initial room, but the staff went above and beyond to make things right. The room we were moved to was beautiful! The staff was friendly, helpful and very patient It was really nice that the reception folks had such excellent language skills and that they wanted to make sure we had a wonderful stay

This is a charming old hotel full of character and sparkling clean. The rooms are not big or fancy, but they are well equipped with the basics. Breakfast buffet includes the basic fruit, cereal and breads plus meats, cheese, hard boiled eggs, and if the weather is nice there's a small terrace to eat on. The location is perfect for walking everywhere in Avignon. The staff is friendly and helpful.

The location was great, very close to the centre of the Old Town, but down a quiet lane. The room was exactly what we expected and needed for our one night stay for our family of four. Lovely staff!

Hand held shower head
I didn’t have the breakfast. The stay was comfortable, with no extras, and a perfect spot to get to everywhere in the city center. Quite a lovely relaxing stay.

Room opened on to internal yard and was a little noisy from aircon units from other rooms. In room unit was also noisy. Room was well equipped and even had a kitchen area, but could do with an update.
Central location fantastic for all Avignon offers! Excellent breakfast.
