Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomPrefect for me but its dated and plain. Dont expect a 4 or even 3 star treatment. But for me couldn't have been more perfect. Slept well and it's a cute little French village ( it is very quiet)
Superb location in centre of Carentan. Problem is nothing is open and it's a ghost town after 8pm. It's a no frills room but perfect for me having cycled the whole day to get here. Just the 1 restaurant open in the town at 8pm but that's all I needed. Slept like a log.

United KingdomSoundproofing is not very good. We could hear the TV next door and people in the corridor, but maybe this is because it's an old building? A little dusty around window and skirting board so could do with a little bit more clean, but wasn't upsettingly so.
Man on reception was really friendly and welcoming. Location was good for the centre of Carentan and the price was good too. Free car park opposite (note that I think Sunday to Monday the market is there so you must park elsewhere). It's a little outdated in terms of bathroom but kind of kitsch. Room not very large but did the job for the price and it is an older building. Good location for visiting the D Day beaches.

United KingdomMinor issues: room was quite small and walls thin (could hear neighbour's conversation). But nothing major and despite the location it was pretty quiet
This hotel is located in the main square at Carentan, within easy walking distance of bars and restaurants. The rooms were clean and the staff super-friendly and helpful

United KingdomI was able to use the hotel WiFi on my tablet with no problem, but my wife did not receive the necessary email confirmation when she tried it on her phone. We didn't pursue this as she was happy to use the data connection on her phone instead.
A convenient location in the centre of the town, close to the train station, shops and restaurants. The locked garage for storage of the bikes that we hired. The breakfasts were good.

United KingdomNoise from water system and alot of door banging. A single spiral staircase up 3 floors maybe difficult for some. Not so much a hotel but just a collection of b&b rooms. top price but not top quality
Basic room on top floor , somewhat dated but acceptable and clean Breakfast was self service cold selection. Plenty of it for a hungry cyclist - but it costs extra.

United KingdomRoom a bit basic but not a problem.
The hotel is in a good location in the centre of town with only a short walk to local restaurants. Reception staff were very helpful and friendly. They are very well set up for cyclists with a lockable garage close by. The room is a bit basic and the bathroom a bit dated but there was plenty of hot water, everything was clean and the bed was comfortable. Although basic it was good value for the money.

NetherlandsThe room did not look like the ones advertised on Booking.com. (Hotel, please be truthful about the rooms). There is only a swivel staircase, no elevator. Older people will probably have difficulties getting to their room. We are still young, gladly. The looks of the toilet and bathroom are very outdated. Everything is dark red in "our" room (#6). Could use a renovation. The wallpapers in the room could be replaced as well to give it a better look. The hotel is very noisy at times. You can hear the plumbing when people flush the toilet or take a shower. You can hear people walk and talk. If you are a very light sleeper, it's probably best to bring earplugs. They don't have eggs at breakfast. Do not see this text as something negative, but please see this as tips into making the user experience better. I know that some things just can not be changed. Either way, thank you for your hospitality.
The location was perfect. So far we could park the car every day in one of the close by free parking grounds in front of the Hotel. Got food places all over. Personnel was very nice. They clean/make up the bed every day if you aren't around. The breakfast was ok, nothing special.

United KingdomThe staircase was a steep round type but well lit and it's an old building so only to be expected.
The hotel's location was great with a free carpark outside. Although the bathroom suite was old everything was very comfortable and very clean. The breakfast was just what we needed, (tasty continental) and the staff were lovely and always helpful.
