Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

LithuaniaPerfect location for a long weekend in Paris. The hotel is in a charming historic building. The room was clean and spacious with a comfortable bed. The hotel is in a central area, but we didn't hear any noise at night, the street was really calm.

United KingdomThere wasn’t a bath plug in the bath so I had to stick to showers. The city tax was the highest rate which according to the info on the Paris tourism place should only apply to ‘palaces’ and 5 star hotels. For a couple this adds an extra £25 to the room per night so be aware of that.
Location is excellent. Turn right out of the door, right again and you’re directly opposite Notre Dame. It is within 5 minutes of bus stops that take you to the Louvre, Musee D’Orsay etc, a 2 minute walk into the streets full of restaurants, cafes, bakeries and close to the Metro station. It was perfect for exploring the left bank. The room was lovely, a comfy bed, nice shower and very atmospheric as it was old with beams and full length windows. Staff were friendly and speak great English. WiFi was good and free.

NetherlandsAnyway, it didn't disturb me, but anyone who requires a silent night sleeping with a window open for fresh air, I'd look for another accommodation.
The welcoming was great! Paris is quite expensive. This hotel has excellent value for money. I had a very cozy room. An authentic room in the middle of Paris, The location is amazing. in the middle of the Quartier Latin, next to Notre Dame, and very fortunately outside the mass tourist section. Excellent connection to Paris airports CDG as well Orly and off course the Gare du Nord train station. I can absolutely recommend everyone this place for a visit to Paris.

United KingdomNo kettle, no caffinated beverages just 2 small wine glasses placed on the table. I had to purchase water from local supermarket which is odd as I've never not had a kettle as a minimum in all my stay in Europe but water is cheap so its ok just inconvenient. No ceiling light so room was far too dim. The main dislike was having booked a double bed but turned out it was 2 single beds bung together loosely so the line in the middle really did my back in for both nights of stay also the mattress was too far too soft and uncomfortable. Not room related but my stay in Paris in this hotel in Jan 2025 incurred a city tax of 14.90 euros per night per person. This will shock you as the city tax was recently brought in to recover the costs of hosting the Olympics in France and the tax amount is dependant on the quality of the accommodation so 5 stars will be higher than lower rated hotels. This hotel was the cheapest I could find in booking.com (yikes) so be mindful when factoring this for 2 people for a nice romantic weekend.
Check in was efficient, location was superb as it was literally just stone throw away from Notre Dame cathedral. No lift (LOL this is Paris) instead narrow winding staircase. Room was surprisingly large with ensuite bathroom. Table was large so great for placing items within line of sight. Bathroom was nice, double basin with bathtub. water pressure was great but hot water turns cold within 5 mins so kinda have to wash quickly or turn off for 5 mins to wait for water to boil then wash off.

IrelandThis is not a dislike, just advice for people with heavy luggage or mobility issues. Our double room was on the 4th floor, and 70 winding narrow steps. Also not a dislike but the bathroom has a big window separating it from the bedroom (that could easily have a curtain installed but doesn't) so if someone is sitting on the toilet they can make eye contact with someone lying on the bed. We laughed and did not care, but some might find it embarrassing.
The location is excellent for sight seeing, restaurants, subway and tourist attractions and the price is great value. 200 meters from Notre Dame. The Staff were very friendly and allowed us to leave our bags with them for a few hours after check out.. The hotel is an old building with some charm to it. It is ideal if you just need a no frills bedroom.

AustraliaNo lift to excess upper floors. Room was too hot considering winter. With open windows too noisy. Couldn't sleep half night due to next door neighbours fighting. Should be some rules about quiet hours. No coffee station, no fridge in the room. Shower not convenient to use an less you are an engineer.
Location 10/10. Old 18th century building absolutely unique. St.Michelle train station just 5 minutes walk. Cheap and easy to use.

United KingdomThe room itself was tiny (although the bathroom was large), but it did not matter because the only time I spent in the room was to sleep; I was out in the city of Paris all the time.
There was only one flight of stairs to the room. The location could not have been better, it was only a five minute walk to Notre Dame Cathedral and to the Cluny Museum. The hotel building was ancient and historic and full of charm. Although the weather was cold, the room was comfortably warm.

IsraelClimbing these stairs to the upper floor is not feasible for everyone. Especially, if you have a big suitcase. No tea-kettle. No trash bin. There is a showcase between the room and the toilet, but no curtain.
Location. Easy check-in late at night.

AustraliaEven without my injury the bathroom would have been a bit awkward (shower over a bath difficult to step into) and in need of renovation but it was not a big problem. The positives outweighed this for me.
Warm welcome. Good location in quiet street between latin quarter and Notre Dame. Arriving with a fractured foot, a hotel with no lift was not ideal, but I was allocated a 1st floor room and the receptionist did everything possible to facilitate my stay, including delivering a fabulous breakfast to my room. A character little hotel in a historic area, close to everything. Very comfy bed with good pillows and plenty of them, beautifully laundered.

United StatesThe bathtub does not have a slip proof pad on the bottom and because of the height is difficult to exit safely. The stopper mechanism for the right sink is broken and the stopper for the left sink is missing (I think they can at least take the mechanism off the left sink and put it on the right sink to make one of them work). The curtained window looking into the tub is cracked.
We loved the antiquity of the room.

AustraliaRoom 24 middle window could not close, ok for ventilation but not best for kids. Main room light is not bright and on a stand. It occupies the only power socket in that area. There are 2 sockets either side of the bed.
Our 5th stay in this hotel (room 24 and 47 (which has a cheeky view of the Notre Dame. Very old, quirky and Parisienne. Love the beams. On Left Bank, down hill from the Sorbonne University AND very close to Notre Dame. Local restaurant used by locals L'oie Qui Fume is 3 minutes walk away from the river. Narrow, spiral stair and no lift. Filling, tasty breakfast. (not: after shower, leave shower curtain outside of bath to allow it to dry.)
