Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomPrice of the breakfast 18 euros for a continetal breakfast very expensive, although very nicely laid out and good selection. We were lead to believe that the car parking was 6 euros and in fact it was 15 per night !! We had to pay a 200 euro deposit for the room , Iv never paid that before even in a top hotel in London!! I don't expect to pay a deposit that is more than the cost of the room. not for one night anyway.
breakfast was good, nice pool, sun loungers

BelgiumYou have to pay extra for trivial things, like parking and (if you're not staying in a duplex) plates and kitchen utensils. Especially the €40 per day for a parking space for charging (Tesla charger) seemed extortionate. You can just park on the street in front of the hotel and charge your car in lots of places on the island. The hotel doesn't really have a restaurant, but they offer breakfast and something from a deli for supper. We just ate out.
We booked a duplex room for a family of 4 and it was a good size, very nice, very clean, everything you want for a family. The pool is large enough and well maintained. Overall the hotel leaves a well maintained, clean impression. It is located on the quiet side of a quiet town next to a vineyard.

United KingdomReally nothing to dislike. We cycled easily to La Flotte in the evenings but a wee way if you’re not fit. Shelf on headboard is a design fault but hardly a “thing”. Some normal tea bags and some UHT milk would have been much appreciated in the room pack but again, really minor.
Great launch pad for the island but also quick to enter and exit when on a short stay. V friendly staff, low key, simple but all you could need, all amenities, pedal bikes to hire on site and lovely and quiet. Breakfast was spot on - variety and lovely open room. €15 to park in gated area but some places outside.

FranceThe price for the electric vehicle charged. It was mentioned in a survey as 32 euro per night, whereas i was charged 40euro. Swimming pool is relatively small. Plenty of bycicle to take but was told "lets see how many we get back in return tomorrow". The fact that you need to pay for hammam, sauna etc. It should be free.
Overall location, easy to go everywhere with few minutes by car. Welcome.service

IrelandPart of the charm is its quietness but it may be impactful. If you arrive by public transport, as we did, it’s a 20 min walk to the bus stop to get to and from La Rochelle. It’s on the outskirts of the village, 10 mins walk to the bakery/ cafe / restaurant. So hire a bike!
I liked the staff, breakfast, spacious suite, the environmental focus of the hotel, the hot tub, the facility to hire bikes, tranquil location.it’s close to a beach (but not the sandy beaches)

NetherlandsWe first got a “garden” view room. This room has a bicycle parking view! We complained and quickly got the other great room. Don’t offer these rooms as garden view for these prices.
The rooms were large. We had a room looking over the vineyards with a nice terrace. Breakfast was excellent.

FranceWalls are thin. If you have noisy neighbors... you'll know it ! No air conditioner. But the hotel has an ecological friendly politic. So it's a choice. The fact that the room with 2 one person beds (for kids) is on a mezzanin which was not clearly mentioned on booking for the loft. At least when you look at the pictures you can figure it out.... but it's not clearly featured. A 20€ fee for the cot which was not mentioned on booking (but is mentioned on the hotel's website)
Very good hotel. A nice breakfast Room was clean and comfortable. Near the shore. And a nice swimming pool. Thanks for the kindness of the staff for the breakfast... making it one of the best experience ever !

United StatesA lot of supplementary costs I am more used to seeing in a business hotel used for expense accounts rather than a vacation establishment. (coffee and tea in the room - nespresso capsules charges at €1.50 each, €12 parking, €17.50 breakfast, etc). A lot of rules which made us feel we were staying in someone’s home, rather than paying guests in a hotel: bikes have to be returned by 7pm, pool closes at 8pm. the entire property is no smoking or vaping. No smoking makes sense as the property is quite small and the rooms very close together, no vaping seemed a little excessive. if these rules had been stated clearly on booking.com we would have probably stayed elsewhere as vaping on the street felt uncomfortable due to the proximity of the neighbor’s homes. The entire complex was almost silent with guests quietly moving around. Very peaceful but I would have preferred more advance notice of the rules.
Very quiet and peaceful location. Beautiful complex, our room had a nice terrace, room well furnished with all amenities including shower products. A nice welcome gift of a bottle of water and some cookies. We had a loft room as 2 adults, very spacious although the access ladder was steep, especially in the middle of the night. ok for adults, I’m not sure about leaving children up there unsupervised. Very tranquil pool overlooking the vineyard with a nice jacuzzi. Check-in was smooth and the gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Beautiful lobby area.

United KingdomWe paid over £300 per room per night, and on top of that were landed with charge after charge from the hotel. It was extra to have breakfast, park the car, use the little on site sauna, and borrow the hotel's own bikes. Compared with the place we stayed with after this in the Loire Valley where generosity was everywhere including small but important things like free large bottles of water we did feel rather fed up and sadly it coloured our experience of the stay overall.
Lovely small hotel - very tidy, modern, clean. Comfortable beds. Prettily decorated rooms. Good seaside feel. Our children had an adjoining room with kitchenette. The Il de Re is fun for cycling and we explored about half the island by bike on our first day. The staff were helpful in finding restaurants for supper, especially as it was a busy season and everywhere was quite full. We accidentally chose to have supper by the port in St Martin de Re on the same night that islanders and holiday makers flocked there for late night fireworks, so that was an added bonus!
