Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaI'm nitpicking but maybe the options for and the quality of the coffee at breakfast could have been better. The shower in the bathroom was only a hand shower and was quite low down (and I'm not that tall).
Our stay at the Logis was absolutely perfect, from the warm welcome, the beautiful room (which was luxurious in an understated way) and the beautiful fireplace they had going in the lounge area. Dinner was exquisite, and they were very accommodating of our dietary restrictions (vegetarian). They made every effort to make our meal special, and it was one of the best I've ever had (and very worth the price); just make sure you don't miss the cheese cave!

CanadaCan’t think of anything. Was very happy.
Liked all the staff. Most helpful. Especially challah. The breakfast was very good. The room was lovely and the view amazing from it. Especially enjoyed there were two windows. The bathroom was large and so spa like.

United KingdomThe only thing that could have been improved is that the lighting in the rooms and in the main bathroom wasn't brilliant, I really struggled. Whilst dim lighting is all very romantic, when you're trying to get ready on a dark winter morning, the ability to have more light in the bedroom and main bathroom area would have been really appreciated. That said, it wouldn't put me off staying again as everything else was faultless.
Beautiful and thoroughly charming hotel in the heart of St Emilion. Every team member was amazing, really friendly and very helpful, we really enjoyed our stay at Logis de la Cadene. Stylish decor the hotel was a superb blend of contemporary chic with old-world charm. Ability to park and charge car in their nearby sister hotel was fantastic.

United StatesThere was no elevator or lift, so the suitcases were a bit of a challenge. However, the staff would be happy to oblige if needed. We also loved the breakfast, but it would have been nice if some type of eggs were included.
The staff was exceptional! Camille greeted us, helped us park our car and then carried our suitcases up 3 flights of stairs! Way beyond what anyone would have done! We were in a separate building than the “hotel”, which was the oldest house in St. Emilion. There were 4 suites, kitchen, living room, dining room, library and the downstairs had a sauna, steam bath, a place for massages and a pool table (which made use of!) and cute little garden area. We never saw another guest even though the house was fully booked.

United StatesLogos de la Cadene is perfectly located in the quaint town of St. Emilion. The hotel is beautifully decorated and we had the most delicious breakfast! We wished we had more time in this magical medieval town. It’s a must if you ever go to France!

United KingdomAs the house isn’t attached to the hotel it would have been good if they provided some refreshments in the ground floor sitting rooms so you could enjoy being there rather than just being in your room
We stayed in La Maison which is a beautifully restored house away from the hotel, which was lovely

United Kingdom1. Disappointed with generosity of in room drinks - only 1 nespresso capsule for 2 of us for 2 days. No tea and no milk. 2. Asked for an iron to iron my shirt. Man went off to get it, never heard from again. Put an iron in every room 3. The upsell was unpleasant. A fried egg for €8, pink champagne +€20 per glass. We recommend caviar with that +€35. I don’t mind paying a lot, but I hate being sold to.

United StatesWe were upgraded to a suite in another building, which was very nice because we were a group of 3 and thus appreciated the opportunity to have 2 rooms. Unfortunately, the other building--La Maison de la Cadene--was a bit further away from the "center" of the village. I don't mean to be dramatic, Saint Emilion is not that big, so it was maybe a 5-minute walk up some steps. It wasn't too big of a deal, it was more so just ironic because we had chosen the hotel for its ideal location in the heart of the village. Overall though, if I could do it over again, I would still probably want to be at La Maison de la Cadene just for the ability to have 2 separate rooms, so I can't complain!
Everyone on staff was lovely and very welcoming, no matter the time of day! :) They helped us arrange a taxi to the train station very early in the morning which was much appreciated, and also offered to book us a dinner reservation on request. The location of the hotel is also perfect for exploring Saint Emilion because it's right in the heart of the village: exit the hotel and turn left, and you'll run right into the village's "main square" at the foot of the monolithic church (this is also where tours of the church originate, so it's really convenient). Turn right, and you'll walk uphill to the street where the tourism office is located (right across from a great overlook point out onto the whole village) as well as some lovely little restaurants, bakeries, and wine stores.

United KingdomVery minor details - our bedsheets had holes in them (however bed was very comfy and bed linen good quality). I also prefer to have a headboard on my bed. The room we were in (2015) had a very grand bathroom and room was a little small, but I would return!
Really beautiful hotel which feels more like a grand house. Staff were great and location couldnt be any better. If you are staying you must experience the restaurant which was a real highlight of our holiday!
