It would have been better if we could have stayed longer, or maybe just moved in :-)

Located just on outskirts of Amboise (we easily reached it by bicycle from city center), Maison Chemin was a beautiful, well-appointed, and peaceful place for our family of five to stay. I wish I could have taken the beds and the linen bed clothes home with me. Cedric and Ombeline were the warmest, loveliest of hosts, and helpful in every way. Breakfast included house made preserves and yogurt (we had the choice of one infused with rose geranium), home baked treats, breads, local cheeses, and eggs and coffee to order. Nothing was lacking. A careful and very accessible selection of locally produced wines was available to guests to purchase at cost. The kids enjoyed using the pool table in the common/breakfast room and racing their bikes around the circular driveway. Not only would we recommend this chambres d’hôtes without hesitation, our experience was delightful enough that it could easily serve as our excuse to return again to the area.

We had a lovely stay in one of the first floor en-suite rooms on a bed and breakfast basis. The owners, and our hosts, Ombeline and Cedric were delightful and attentive without being intrusive. Our room was well-appointed and had been refurbished to a very high standard. All our needs were anticipated with great attention to detail - homemade herbal tea in the room on arrival was a nice touch. The provision of a mosquito net over the bed was unexpected but welcome. Shared use of the downstairs area, including the kitchen facilities, was a bonus. Breakfast was plentiful with a variety of fresh breads and pastries with homemade jams / compotes, yogurt, fresh fruit, eggs and cheese. The property is situated in the heart of the Loire Valley and ideal for exploring this region.

We loved the breakfast made to order by Cedric and his lovely helpers. The yoghurt with fresh fruits from the garden was to die for. Compliments to the chef. Everything was great straight shot to Chenanceau castle a little rain but the hosts helped getting our clothes dry. Magnifique. Epoustouflant. Merci.

We really enjoyed our 2 nights in Maison Chemin! The breakfasts were a delicious continental assortment in a nice simple breakfast area. The hosts Cedric and Ombeline were very friendly and very informative. Our room was very comfortable and spacious and the bathrooms were modernly renovated and spacious as well! We are most grateful for our breakfast to go bag that Cedric put in the refrigerator for us when we told him we were leaving early in the morning! Thank you so much! It was perfect!!

When we arrived we rang the bell outside several times before someone answered. We weren’t provided a phone number to call. The code to the gate provided on the reservation did not work. We did arrive 15-20 minutes earlier than the check in time so it’s not their fault. It would have been nice if the reservation provided a number to call in case of issues. Calling Priceline 800 number was q waste of time. I had to go wait on hold for so long.

Cédric and Amboline were so kind and hospitable. Amboline provided delicious breakfast with homemade jams. We had access to a communal kitchen so my husband and I made dinner and ate outside. They have a nice garden. I also liked the soap they provided. We met some nice people from London and Washington DC.

Newly renovated rooms inside the most picturesque houses with the best views of the country side. Ombeline and Cédric were so kind and prepared the most wonderful farm to table breakfast each morning. I can’t say enough great things about this property.

Like all French hotels, apartments, homes we Stay at …. Screens on widows isn’t popular…. Traveling June …. Mosquitoes are abundant at dusk and they arrive in mass….. it’s a French thing I guess

Quite, secluded, well furnished , 5 suites ran by the most incredible couple and their 3 children …a true French treasure…. Not a fancy hotel chain …. But the attention detail, and personalized service is amazing….a great home base to tour the quaint city of Amboise, and tour the chateau’s……

We loved the stylish decor and feeling like we were surrounded by countryside, but only a short 5 min drive into Amboise. The couple who ran it were lovely and we really enjoyed breakfast. We also enjoyed having access to a kitchen and the really thoughtful wine selection you can buy.
