Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomFood availability but with food hall just around corner this wasn’t an issue. Fire alarm went off and staff didn’t let us know what was happening.

FranceThe pillows were a bit rubbish, didn't feel as good quality as the mattress. Didn't try the breakfast, because the offering seemed weak compared to the price. Parking at Cité du Vin was quite expensive, even with the hotel discount. The WiFi is slow and almost unusable, especially for streaming services. Plus you have to have a Marriot account to use it. It should just be available to all guests.
Everything was pretty great, the bar was welcoming and not too expensive. It has a Photo booth, which we loved and lots of games to play, like Connect 4 and Guess Who. Very fun! The mattress is so comfortable, I think it's memory foam. Staff were kind and helpful.

First time staying at a Moxy and we liked it. Well thought out room, good bathroom, quiet and comfortable. Easy secure parking nearby overnight. There's a nice food hall just around the corner and plenty of restaurants nearby. Staff were all really friendly.

United States18 Euros for a very simple breakfast is on the expensive side. The hotel should have real glasses in the bathroom instead of paper cups. Drinking from the paper cups tastes like drinking from a cardboard box.
It was clean and not too far from the tram going to the city center.

FranceLocation was limited, when the Halles de Bacalan were closed there were not so many restaurants or places to go, so I would prefer somewhere downtown

United KingdomI couldn't find a telephone in my room, which I found very odd. I think it's the first time ever in all the years of travelling and staying in hotels around the world that I have ever noticed this. Also the fact that there wasn't an iron and ironing board in the room was quite strange. Most hotels seem to have them in each room, even the more modest and cheaper hotels. These were my only negative thoughts about the room.
I particularly liked the friendliness of the hotel staff. They were very pleasant, very friendly and often chatted with me in the bar / reception area. The breakfast was good, lots of choice, and more than enough to satisfy most people.

GreeceIf you travel alone and stay until late at the historic center of the city for dinner etc, you might take into consideration the 20 min to get to the hotel in the evening.
I liked the refreshing style of the hotel, very close to the Cité du Vin and also distance to tram was excellent! Felt very safe at the hotel.

FranceThe "restaurant" is little more than a poor man's MacDonald's, with a smaller menu and not as tasty micro-wave warmed dishes. However, the Moxy is a short walk (3 minutes) from a food hall with a wide variety of international dishes from great steaks, sea food, Italian, Spanish and Asian food. The Moxy is right between two Tram B stops and it's a long walk for an old couple, but the younger customer will have no problems reaching either Rue Achard or Cité du Vin stops. If you arrive by car, there's nowhere to unload your cases near the hotel. You have to find your way to the Cité du Vin parking and then find your way to the hotel. The hotel is 200 metres walking distance so quite easy if you're young and enjoy solving puzzles.
The Moxy has a completely different approach to hotel décor. It appears the target customer is a young person working away from their normal office. The seating area, shared for meals, is equipped with tables with PC connection points. The rooms have similar connection points but no table space. However, this works well even for retired tourists. Good location for several of Bordeaux's tourist attractions.

South AfricaBreakfast was disappointing, dishes weren't being replenished timeously.
Location was good, close to tram stops and the wine museum. Halles Bacalan, a food market, was just around the corner, excellent food options. The parking arrangement was also good.

IrelandSmall rooms for the price No wardrobe space. Strangely no phone in the room - noticed this when we needed to call down to reception. Had to physically get up and go down to reception late at night instead (no big deal). My least favourite thing had to be the bed. It was lovely and big, but sooooo incredibly hard. Both myself and my partner woke up early each morning with terrible aches and pains from it. If only the mattress was a tiny bit softer!
Really liked how modern the hotel is. Great location, a little bit outside the city centre but right beside excellent transport links. Also loved the food hall that was pretty much next door. The staff were all so lovely and helpful. The rooms were very modern, clean and tidy.

IrelandThe lack of wardrobe. That is all.
The Staff at the Moxy were exceptional, they really went out of their way to help. One person went above and beyond, she works night shifts, sorry I don't know her name, she speaks great English, as do most of the staff. I was in a predicament, I left my bag in the back of a taxi, I called her and she was able to get in contact with the driver and organise for him to return to the airport, with my bag, which contained my passport. I would have missed my flight, only for her. I can't thank her enough, that is what I call exceptional staff.
