Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomEverything was perfectly clean and adequate but we felt that it was just enough, no luxuries here, one small bar of soap, no toiletries, white towels were grey rather than white. Breakfast was okay, but no choices. Very much a budget place to stay. Having read the reviews, I expected better. My husband couldn't get up from low bed and no chair he could sit in. Disabled toilet rail, but although the room was accessible for wheelchair users, it wasn't suitable for people with disabilities, no rail in the shower etc . Very basic

AustraliaThere is only one restaurant nearby and it was only serving take away. Saying that, the food was good and we had a cosy evening in the little dining room provided.
Parking onsite and and really lovely facilities. We stayed in a wheelchair accessible room which was very comfortable. Aude was delightful and we learned a lot about the area from her.

United KingdomThere was nothing to dislike.
The host, Aude, was very friendly and helpful with advice about restaurants and getting the bus into town, which was just a couple of minutes walk from her property and really convenient. The breakfast was very nice too. We were able to park our car at the property. There was also a very pretty garden.

RomaniaThere was no cleaning (not even the trash can was emptied) during the entire stay, which surprised us. There is no air conditioning. I received a fan, which did not cope with the very high heat.
Easy communication before arrival. Aude is an exceptional host, very kind, talkative, who prepared breakfast for us in the tastefully decorated garden. Big room, comfortable bed, storage spaces.

United KingdomThere is a parking space on the property. We could have managed ok if we had not had this space, but it might have been more difficult. It’s a hypothetical issue, so not really a problem i can comment on. Probably should have left this section blank.
The chamber d’hote is in a suburb about 2km from the old port of La Rochelle. The room is in a newly built annex looking onto the family garden. The bed is big and comfortable and the en suite bathroom is excellent with a lovely floor and an excellent shower. The proprietress provides a lovely breakfast and you can use the eating area and utensils for your own food in the evening, if you wish - there is a very good mini supermarket about 200m away. We caught a bus into the old town and this is very easy to do and cheap. We walked back along a very good footpath alongside the cycle track, and this was easy and a good bit of exercise for a couple of oldies.

AustraliaAude was the consummate host with a lifetime experience of the industry, her ability to warm and listen to all her guests was divine . Occasionally you would feel the need to back track through life in the hope of repeating the fond times you experienced , Terre en Vue would be this place for us, and we don’t do this often as the planet has to many places to discover for the first time. Walk to town is only 20 mins

United KingdomWe informed Aude in advance regarding our dietary requirements (gluten-free) for one person which were catered for, thank you. The Cook room would not be suitable if you are not able bodied since there is a steep and shallow staircase (14 steps) to negotiate. However, there are two other rooms at ground level.
Very comfortable bed and excellent shower. Also a large-ish room with ensuite (Cook room) meant we could totally relax. Our host (Aude) was extremely friendly and offered plenty of advice for our 3-day stay. You can park immediately outside the property.

United KingdomJust the mattress. Possibly memory foam but i just could not get on with it. This is just a personal point and no reflection on the overall package.
Aude was the perfect host with lots of great information about where to park and places to eat. The off street parking was so helpful and free. Super clean and a great kitchen area if needed. The highlight is the beautiful and peaceful garden which is great for relaxing.
