Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomBreakfast was basic. Pastries, coffee, bread and a few spreads and some fruit and 2 cereal options.
Great co working space with fast reliable Wi-Fi , clean rooms, curtains on beds with lights and charging area. Free locker with code in room. Lovely staff, found myself in a pickle unable to pay for my tram to the airport and they gave me a tram card loaded with a journey to save me from having to pay for a taxi! Great service.

United StatesIt was sooooo noisy. And honestly pretty hot. Everything else so good that I nearly didn’t care. Sound proofing headphones and minimal moving at night made it okay.
The common area is AMAZING. So many couches, tables, a bar and food, good music, friendly staff. There was an issue with hot water in my original room, and didn’t really care for my noisy roommates, so I told reception. Not only did they switch my room so I could have a hot shower….it was entirely my room ALONE! Such great service. The location is a 3 min walk to a metro stop so getting in and out of the city is a breeze.

IrelandLocation for me. Its in a nice area but way out from the city...take at least 50mins to walk in. Tram only 1.80 to centre but needed to swap twice and takes about 20mins. Also the price of food and drink a rip off. I paid 3.50 for a tiny glass of beer....I mean tiny. Paid 8.50 for a salad bowl which was also tiny and full of seeds.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Place very clean, great to have lockers in rooms and curtains on each bed.

PortugalIt’s somewhat out of the main town although there is good transportation. My biggest problem was that a lot of stuff was not working well. Light switchs not working, blinds are powered but some did not work, showers are poorly designed and there was only one toilet and shower for the entire floor I was on. The place was pretty empty and it did not matter much but it would have if it were full. It’s an architects dream but he did not get the details and the quality right.
It’s a modern, open hostel in an interesting end of town. The old dock area is being changed into a lively and play kind of place. Also, the price is right.

United KingdomEven though I'd given them a heads up about my late arrival, I found myself weirdly locked out of the front door. What was odder was the receptionist was visible and yet, I was left standing outside. They had a sign telling guests to call a number to get the door open - not ideal when you don't have a local sim card! I appreciated the peaceful surroundings, although the location was a bit out of the way and too quiet for my liking after midnight.
The room was decent and the attached bathroom was a nice touch. The beds? Super comfy! The place was a bit out of the action, but it was so peaceful that I didn't mind too much.

SpainThe breakfast was a bit pricey, but it was very good and had many options. It is located in the modern area of Bordeaux so if you want to go to the city center you have to take the tram (the tram stop is a 3min walk from the hostel) or walk for about 35/40 minutes, but the walk is by the river so I think it's not too bad.
Although it was an 8-bed room, there were two lockers, one next to the bed and one in the area of the bathroom, that was great, it allowed me to organize and lock my things, also you don't need a lock, they give you a code. The bed was comfortable, and I had enough privacy as there were curtains for every bed. The room had two sinks, a toilet and a shower. And there was also another toilet and two more showers in every floor. At first, I thought there was no hairdryer, but it was in the separate bathroom. The common area was wide, had many tables and also some armchairs and it was never too full which is great for relaxing.

SpainThe location is removed from central Bordeaux, but there is easy tram access. The hostel is right next to several cool attractions, such as the Bassins du Lumiere (light museum), the museum of wine, and Les Halles du Bacalan which is a cool market eatery. Lots of space downstairs to work or sit around.

SwitzerlandThe only thing that could be improved is the work space. It could be more quiet, with more division between cafeteria part and work part. I was also very confused about the rules and infos, one of the 'creative boards' could be transformed into info board. Ie. there was no info on when the cafeteria closes, I only realized on day 3 there was free water dispenser, I was not sure if I can order food to the hostel etc... It would be much easier and nicer if all this was provided on the info board.
This hostel is really new and comfortable. Bed curtains give the privacy, there is a lot of storage space, each bed has a socket and space for small belongings. Open space downstairs has comfy couches and chairs, with a good space for work and chill. Internet speed was great

United KingdomThe movement sensor in the shower room could not see you when you were in the shower and left you in the pitch black. Bit scary. The music in the common areas was on a loop and got really boring after a couple of days. There was no communal kitchen
The hostel is in an area with plenty of other hotels and the market/eateries of the Halles of Bacalan. There is also the attraction Cite du Vin just around the corner. The hostel has a small gym, a laundry, a pinball machine and table tennis too. The lounge cum bar, cum dining area is large with plenty of comfortable seating. There is also a large outdoor patio area. The eight bed dorm I was in had a shower and hand basin with a separate private toilet for the dorm. Each bunk had a curtain for privacy with its own light and sockets. The beds were super comfy.
