Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomI found the electric shower tricky, either nice and hot but low pressure or too cold with better pressure.
Good position, great communication and check-in instructions, staff on site were very welcoming and helpful. Comfortable bed with good linen. Property is clean and location good but tranquil, lovely outlook from room onto green space.

United KingdomThe fact that the pipes and loud toilet noises (I'm guessing they were macerators from the loud sounds of the flushing mechanisms)woke me throughout the night with their clanging and banging it seemed anytime that someone used them, and even just randomly too since mine went off when it hadn't been used - regularly. My sink was cracked and the seals around the sink were really grubby - both would be harbouring germs and dirt, a bit off putting but elsewhere was spotless. My sheets were scratchy. I would really have liked a kettle in my room since I was on the top floor and didn't really want to go down to the first floor for the kitchen in my pyjamas when I woke in the middle of the night and couldn't get back to sleep because of the banging! TBH a kettle in the room is what I would have expected regardless. I've never not had one before when I've stayed elsewhere. Also as an aside, you really should get rid of the dead plants in the kitchen especially the terranium which looked disgusting! Would also have been nice to have a simple breakfast option too that was just continental for those of us that didn't want cooked and didn't want to pay the cooked price for a simple yoghurt and a cup of tea.
Great location. Guests were quiet and respectful. Rooms were spotless.

United KingdomThe room was above the lounge/kitchen and smells travel up the open staircase. To be honest I did not enjoy the smell of something Indian that was cooked in the evening nor the smell of pork fry in the morning. The room on the 2nd floor seem to require water booster pump which was coming on as soon as someone on this floor opened taps or flushed toilet. This noise was rather disruptive as it was sudden and loud. I was glad I could sleep till 7 am when the first guest woke up.
The owners have made a lot of effort to convert a standard Georgian mansion into a bit more modern facility. Bathrooms are well equipped. Very comfortable bed. The room was large and gave the feeling of space due to high ceilings and large windows. I really liked the quality of work in the upgrades: wooden floors did not creak and look stunning.

United KingdomMy bed head was against the wall next to the stairs - fortunately it wasn't too busy otherwise footfall would have been more of an issue. The saniflow is noisy and woke me from other room's use. I don't personally like not having a kettle etc in the room - even though the kitchen was fab. I need to make my morning tea in the privacy of my room - so I took a travel kettle! I found the room a little stark - a bedside rug would have been a homely touch. What I really don't like is the £12 overnight charge for my small non-shedding dog. There was nothing provided for her, which many other establishments do when making a charge (eg. mat, water and food bowls, even a treat), and I don't buy the 'extra cleaning' excuse, especially as there was no carpet, rugs or soft furnishings in the room.
Good location, beautiful building and refurb, pleasing room size, clean, the communal kitchen and lounge are lovely, parking meters available right outside (pricey though), Brandon Hill to the rear - a delightful walk.

United StatesI was given a room on the ground floor, right next to the entrance and right under the breakfast hall. The hotel is old and creaky. At night I would be woken up by the guests arriving late. In the morning I was woken up by the guests getting an early breakfast. I did not get much sleep in this hotel...
