Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsI stayed 3 nights and accommodation was very good for the price that I payed. I got a room with privet bathrooms and was cheaper than the hostels with private bathroom. You can walk to the tower bridge easily and the area I found save and nice. There is supermarket close by and nice coffee bars. The check in was easy I got an email with all the instructions. The only missing is the human receptionist but everything was clean and comfortable.

GermanyThe rooms are no luxury and the bathroom floor was so slanted that it gave me a bit of sea legs. There is no staff available - not an issue for us but may be for others. But that's what we expected.
Good location, very close to Tower. There are some options for eating out around. The area is better than expected. The room was clean and the check in was straightforward. Looked a bit better than in photos.

United KingdomTo be fair, it was close to perfect. Minor detail is that it would have been handy to have more than 1 towel and ideally a blanket as extra, cause the duvet is quite thin for Winter nights. But these are definitely not deal breakers, especially considering the great value for money that's this place. Only note is, it may not be ideal for light sleepers as it's right next to a busy railway.
This is the cleanest hotel I've ever been in London. Both bathroom and bedroom were properly sanitised. The kitchen with plenty of coffee, teas and biscuits was such a nice extra. The room is also pretty well insulated from noises from other rooms. The location is very convenient and safe for a female solo traveller.

SwitzerlandIt’s a bit chilly when you arrive but the heating works.
What a gem of a find! So cheap for central London, a short walk to Aldgate East or the Tower of London. Basic accommodation - exactly like it is in the pictures. Comfy enough, we slept well, we warm, enjoyed a hot shower in the private bathroom. I think we were lucky as everyone else in the property was also quiet.

ItalyIt's not a fancy London room in Kensington if that's what you're into but it's comfortable and has a very good value for money.
Value for money it's really good. For a single traveller this is really a nice option if you don't want to go for a hostel. The room is clean and well equipped. The owner is also nice and available. Good as well with the key handling and organizational aspects, seemed easy. In terms of location, it's quite close to Aldgate underground (less than 10 minutes walking) so it's quite easy to move around. Moreover, it's close to Tower bridge and to the areas of London I personally prefer.

Czech RepublicThe room was quite small, as was the bed, but we were just sleeping over there so it wasn't an issue. Just outside our room was also a machine (air conditioning maybe?) that was sounding sometimes during the night. It's not too bad but if you're a light sleeper, keep that in mind.
Checking in (self check-in) was very easy and the owners responded fast to any queries. The room was clean, as in pictures, and with its own bathroom and minifridge. Location was also nice, very close to the Tower of London

United KingdomThe only issue I had is that the room window face directly over the DLR line, which was not an issue per se, but the window was closing properly I guess so it let pass a lot of noise.
The position is great as it is very close to the tower hill tube station. The room was clean, tiny but for one or even two nights is fine.

United KingdomNo towel and bed sheet change. You have to use same towel and sheets on your entire stay.
The best thing about the property is it’s location, 3 mins walk to aldgate east tube station, 5 mins walk to Tower hill tube and bus station, 4 mins walk to Tower bridge. Haven’t seen anyone on the reception during my 3 days stay. Main door is password protected. Having ful furnished kitchen on both the floors. Having two different wifi connections. It’s too good for single travelers, who wants to stay in central london with privacy and within budget
