Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomSpa was very busy. As the hotel charges extra for the spa, it might be better to have allocated timeslots to ensure a pleasant experience for everyone. Breakfast quality was really poor. Never received in room slippers or newspaper after the hotel said they'd provide. Not a big deal, but if you offer and promise something to guests, it's disappointing to not deliver.
Great facilities and grounds. Room was spacious and clean.

AzerbaijanHotel is located in the remote countryside area far from local amenities.
Antiquity and the coziness of the hotel & rooms interior was awesome! Breakfast was nice and with variety of choices that can be added to the deafult option. Staff was very friendly and helpful, we requested to change one of the rooms due to bad smell and the reception staff was quick in replacing that with another room.

United KingdomThat it is 5 star and the pool/spa is not available enough for kids. (My solo teen looks adult) 7 am is not ideal! Could extend that time for indoor facilities without much impact on the spa. Otherwise they can't advertise that they meet that criteria.
We loved the room, the surrounding gardens, the outdoor eating space, spa. Breakfast was good and exceeded a previous review. The staff are friendly and incredibly helpful.

United KingdomUnfortunately our room hadn’t been cleaned properly in between guests as personal items had been left in the drawer next to the bed. Called reception and someone came to collect items promptly but room not cleaned again. Areas of the hotel could do with an update as grouting mouldy in bedrooms and wallpaper/paint flaking in hallways.
Spa and grounds are well kept and staff are super friendly and helpful!

United KingdomAs a place that is 5 Star and highly praised particularly for the Spa I felt let down by the room. The bathroom was lovely indeed. However I paid extra to upgrade and the bed which was two single beds put together to make a super king was really uncomfortable. You could feel the joint in the middle. For the price of the room alone I was expecting the best sleep of my life and personally it was not at all comfortable. There wasn't a mini fridge which would have been nice so we could of had a drink or beverage overnight. The wallpaper on the walls I could of done a better job myself to be honest. You can see the spacing between the wallpaper in some parts of the room. There was no built-in AC just a portable AC unit which you had to plug in. The window was so stiff it took me and a member of staff to push it open. I was also surprised that the Spa area wasn't included for the price you pay when staying the night especially as it's a Hotel and Spa. Overall it was OK but I've stayed in better rooms for less.
I like the friendly staff who were welcoming and attentive. I requested a romantic gesture for my partner's birthday in the room prior to arrival which they obliged and it was really nice. The spa was nice 🙂

United Kingdomfor the price we would expect the pool and spa facilities to be included as in most other hotels we have stayed in , not have to pay £20.00 per person , it was too expensive for small steam room and pool.
rooms were overall nice, we had 2 rooms , "monkey puzzle" was lovely better condition than "maple" the other room which was dated and a little shabby , but overall good sized rooms and bathrooms, comfy beds, views nice from rooms ,they upgraded us and staff were very helpful, keen to please the bathroom in maple was again tired and blocked shower, with flies , but the other in monkey puzzle was spotless food was good and staff very nice.

United KingdomThe spa was lovely but only because we paid for early check-in so had a couple of hours there to ourselves. After 3pm the pool became extremely crowded Breakfast was unfortunately appalling - anyone who doesn't have it included in their room rate shouldn't pay for it The room where we had our massage was quite cold and not particularly atmospheric as the music was very quiet
We had a really nice meal in AG's restaurant. The service was excellent, and vegetarians are well-catered for - which is not the case at many spa hotels and was a key reason for us choosing to stay at Alexander House. I'd also really recommend the champagne bar - excellent cocktails! The room was clean and comfortable.

United KingdomRegrettably, as a sizable family group commemorating a special birthday, we encountered issues with other guests who had a low tolerance for noise levels, despite our relocation to a different area away from the main building.
The surroundings were truly exquisite. The accommodation was flawless, equipped with state-of-the-art amenities that perfectly catered to my needs. The decor was breathtaking, and the bathroom facilities exemplified a harmonious blend of elegance and modernity.

United KingdomWe paid for a spa suite which was nearly £500, however without realising and thinking it would be included, we had to pay an extra £20 per person per day. So for a one night stay we had to pay an extra £80 which was quite disappointing.
Cleanliness, the staff were fantastic and friendly. Spa facilities were also fantastic.

United StatesWe didn't realise that the spa and swimming pools were not open to under 18s. There was a lot of confusion surrounding our check-in. We were promised an early check in but then the staff at the desk denied any knowledge despite email correspondence and also talking about it to them on arrival. There were also some errors to the service for our dinner and at breakfast. They brought the wrong meal and also omitted a drink.
The rooms and bathrooms were spacious and very comfortable. The lounge areas in the hotel were very relaxing.

SwitzerlandA pity that my son was not allowed in the spa, but I understand that adults would like their time out without children.
The room was very comfortable with everything that we needed. The breakfast had a nice variety and we loved the pastries! The gardens are lovely and it's so nice to be able to have a short walk around before leaving. Even though the hotel was fully booked and very busy, the hotel staff made sure that we were sorted out with toothpaste and a plug to charge my mobile.
