Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomOn arrival a short drive leads to a barrier controlled by reception. You can’t hear what is being said due to traffic noise. If more than one vehicle arrives at a time the trailing car would possibly hang out onto the carriageway. Main and ancillary stairway carpets let the side down being well-worn and rather fusty smelling. Restaurant lacks ambience and food is rather variable in quality. One of my main course side choices came so late I had to reject it. On the plus side my bill was discounted without asking.
Very convenient for a trip to Barton Grange garden centre and an overnight stay. Pleasingly decorated hotel in pleasant grounds. Staff were helpful and accommodating. The room was bright and fresh looking. There is a nice pool/sauna/steam room on hand. Food was edible.

United KingdomSpa facilities were a bit sparce. No beds to lie on and very small sauna. Needed to be happy with who you were with in there. Steam room was bigger and better. Pool wasn’t very big and floor around it was slippy. One of our party slipped but luckily didn’t fall. Staff sometimes didn’t know what they were doing and no skimmed for coffee was a big no no for me. One of us couldn’t have a Mocktail because they had no syrup apparently, but we think it was because they didn’t know how to make them. No real dedicated lounge for guests meant we felt like we were sat in a through faith.
The bedroom was very nice and comfortable bed. Rain noise kept me awake but everything else was ok. Breakfast was nice as was our evening meal

United KingdomBit of noise from the corridor in the morning as room doors not particularly soundproof. TV mount adjustment was broken in my room although this wasn't a massive problem.

United KingdomDidn’t like waiting 90 mins to get access to the room even though we arrived at the time specified for check in. A complimentary drink was provided but I do feel 90 minutes was a long time. The food in the restaurant at night was quite expensive considering the portion sizes.
Liked where it was situated. Liked outside. The room was nice and the facilities were good.

United KingdomOver £7.00 a pint! Breakfast service not as good as the preceding evening, Table not ready despite arriving at booked time. Tepid, gritty coffee. Assumption that I would 'help myself to the cold continental buffet' led to an inordinate 25 minute wait for scrambled eggs which left me twiddling thumbs.
A well lit, large, accessible and secure car park. Efficient check-in. Comfortable, airy room. Welcoming and friendly waiting staff served a better than average evening meal. Slept well and awoke refreshed.

United KingdomThe breakfast wasn't great but my recommendations were sent in to the cook. Tomatoes cut length ways and not as you would on a breakfast. Sausages were under cooked . Black pudding was only cooked on one side. Beans came out in ramekin which had a skin layer over the top. Expensive jams and other items you could really see that the hotel was trying to impress, shame the cook didn't know how to use their kitchen effectively.
The staff were great , the service was excellent the way we booked in and the amenities were open until late where exceptional .

United KingdomOur room was mostly clean but didn’t appear to have been hoovered as I found several large chunks of skin obviously picked off someone’s foot! Once I’d disposed of those in a tissue it was fine.
Dinner was excellent, staff were lovely and the spa facilities were fine. Pool was a little busy in the afternoon but me and my daughter had it to ourselves for an hour in the morning. Location was excellent for breaking up a journey to see family in Scotland. Will definitely stay again.

United KingdomOnly fault was a very noisy group of boys/men in the pool. They were splashing and playing. But they were everywhere so people who just wanted to quietly swim couldn’t. It spoilt the spa experience.
Breakfast was amazing, it had everything you could want. Restaurant was very nice looking out onto gardens. Room was so quiet and cosy. Views over garden.

United KingdomThe quality of the food at breakfast (hot food only).
Our room was a good size and nicely decorated. The bed was comfortable and there was sufficient tea/coffee etc. Bottled water was available too which was a nice touch. The dinner in the Walled Garden was lovely, the choice was sufficient, the food was excellent. The only thing which was slightly disappointing was the breakfast the following morning. The quality of the hot food wasn't as you would have expected, judging how well the dinner was presented.
