Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

No negatives at all!
Host was so friendly and helpful. Accommodation was very clean and the room had everything we needed. We were allowed to stay with out two small dogs with no extra charge. Breakfast arrived on time and was beautifully presented. The bedroom and bathroom are very large/roomy and the small fridge with fresh milk was a great addition. Definitely recommend staying here if your in the area, we'll certainly be returning.

The house is located in a quiet area. The owner Shane is incredibly welcoming and friendly. The room is clean, all the necessary amenities are provided for use. We had two dogs with us, and for them the room turned out to be cozy and quiet, so they slept peacefully, like at home. We will definitely come back again. Thanks for the hospitality.

Perfect location for visiting Burghley House. Close to a local restaurant for an evening meal. Quiet location with off road parking.

I am at a loss to find anything to moan or say wasn't good enough, I think when it's being delivered as well as it is here, then sometimes you just need to say that!
One of the easiest reviews I've written, the facilities are exactly as described, with the bedroom being large and a larger en-suite than you'd get in any hotels I've stayed in. The host is friendly and helpful, he kept us up to date with travel directions, placed to eat and drink etc. Nothing was too much trouble, all in all an excellent place to stay!

Nothing for that price couldn’t have expected more
The room was great. A fabulous space with a very large on suite. There was loads of space, good storage. Great tv and comfy bed. Shane was a fabulous host who couldn’t have been more helpful, he even lent me his phone charger! We were provided with a simple but more than adequate breakfast which was great as we didn’t need to get up and go out looking for food. For the cost wasn’t expecting breakfast. Excellent value . Thank you.

Can't think of anything - everything went as expected.
The friendly and approachable host. Quiet location away from the main roads. Beautiful decor as soon as entering the front door and up the stairway to room. Wall paintings, furniture, ornaments, plants such a welcoming feel.! Home from home! In the comfortable room blinds and curtains, large TV, magazines and space! Large bathroom with hot shower and more ornaments for that added special touch! Tea and coffee facilities and a light breakfast choice of cereals, juice and toast. Perfect for a short stay! Will be back next year and definitely recommend for couples or solo visitors to Peterborough!
