V clean , superb stay, v scenic , everything you needed for a relaxing stay

Cooking on the range is a bit of a slow affair but you get used to it! One pot dinners is the way to go- didn’t use the oven so can’t comment on that.

Lovely big deck with picnic bench which gave a lovely view into the woods- could do with a gate to keep wee ones/ dogs on it but I brought my own wee metal one as I had read this in a previous review.

It was exactly what we wanted and enjoyed the whole experience. We left something in the bothy and the host went out of their way to return to us, even delivering it personally to our home.

Absolutely stunning location with great walks and complete peace! Lots of songbirds and a happy woodpecker. The bothy was well equipped, warm, and the stove provided heat, hot water (with fantastic pressure) and a wonderful aroma. The beds were comfy and it was the perfect spot for a weekend getaway.

The cleaning wasn’t 100% on our arrival. There was underwear under the bed from a previous visitor and the box with the boardgames had rubbish in it. There were a few bits missed on being wiped down. The beds looked clean and fresh sheets just a few things that weren’t done.

Good size, warm, comfy beds. Outdoor seating area. Parking. Cooker was hard to navigate at first but lots of instructions to help. Liked that there were walks through the woods and lots of recommendations on places to visit. Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

Single beds were too small for our 16 and 11 year old Could be a path or stairs from were car is parked (we were at discillers) it’s quite steep and got really muddy in and out

Fantastic bothy in a brilliant location. A total escape from the hustle and bustle. A switch off from civilisation, waking up to the sounds of birds outside the bothy is good for the soul. We will be back.

Could do with a slightly smaller step up to the patio. Cooker was a temperamental so and so and difficult to get hot enough to cook properly on. A little bigger food prep area would have been usefull. Banged my head on the doors a few times! :) Pity that the only option is portable BBQ as we are BBQ ( Braai ) fanatics and a little portable just doesn't hack it!

Beautiful location, quiet, isolated. Comfortable. Cozy. We came to fly gliders at Deeside gliding club and the weather was no good for that but we had the bothy to keep us warm and comfy.

We don’t have complaints. We could not keep the wood stove burning but that is probably because we were not familiar with this type. We managed to keep it going long enough to heat up the water and the cabin so all good. If we could suggest something in would say a toaster would make it perfect and a broom for indoors.

It was a fun experience with the kids. The bothie is a small wood cabin, very cosy and ours (there are 12) was very clean and well equipped. The kids loved the location in the woods, the feeling of living a bit like in the olden times with the wood stove. If you are considering renting for 4 people please be advised that the double bed is a regular size but the two extra beds are quite short and not suitable for two adults. We were fine because our kids are still short enough to fit comfortably.

Wi-fi would have been good for the kids, but the whole point of the trip was to be off grid so not a major issue at all.

Additional basic items such as washing up liquid, (only 1 wine glass) & basic cooking items such as salt & pepper, oil etc would have been greatly appreciated. A path up to the door would have also been useful as our small children kept falling over and cutting their legs.

Beautiful location, cosy and clean lodge & easy to check in with key safe code. Lots of activities to do locally. Our family loved our holiday here.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Cairngorm Boothies! The cabins are surprisingly spacious, and the provided bedding and towels added a nice touch of comfort. The rustic charm of the place is truly authentic, and the kids had a blast with the fireplace and the outdoor seating area, especially roasting marshmallows under the stars. The kitchenette and bathroom made our stay even more convenient. However, relying on previous guests to clean up the dishes isn't ideal—we did find a few plates with some dried-on food. But overall, we had a fantastic time and would highly recommend this cozy retreat!
