Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

No rails on step-in bath for shower. Serious issue. Could easily cause a serious accident. Cheap & easy to fit a couple of rails to walls at back and end of bath. Do it before somebody slips and gets badly hurt.

The mattress needs replacing. The springs on the left hand side when looking at the bed are worn, so it tries to push you into the floor. We were not told the doors would be locked at any particular time, so when we arrived back at 23:10, we couldn’t get in. We called the evening porter 8 times before we could get into the building. Left outside in the cold for 15mins. The porter told us he locked up early…again we were not told of a time that the building would be locked.

Room although extremely generous size was a little dated
Lovely hotel that unfortunately we only needed for one night for a local ruby wedding celebration so didn't get chance to experience all that it had to offer. What we did like however was the wonderful breakfast in the bar/restaurant area which was extremely clean and pleasant

The bed was extremely uncomfortable for me, it was very hard. I prefer a firm bed but this was hard not firm.
The staff were wonderful. The room was spacious. Food was delicious.

Could do with more towels in the bathroom and be a little more generous with the tea/coffee/milk in the suite.
Absolutely fab, gorgeous room, amazing restaurant with super attentive staff. Great food on dinner menu and really good hot breakfast. Comfy bed, spotlessly clean room.

the bed was nice and big but it was two large singles put together and they were also very very soft (i know its a personal choice but a bit firmer would have been nicer) the bathroom was again lovely and spacious but the shower itself had really poor water flow so it wasn't very enjoyable to stand under as it got quite chilly with no water really running over you
room was excellent lovely and big which was a surprise with a lovely separate area for watching TV with a nice comfy sofa also a nice big area for the wardrobe where the tea and coffee making facilities were as well the swimming pool was lovely nice and clean and for a change actually a nice warm temperature also the steam room was excellent unfortunately the sauna wasn't very hot not sure if there was a fault

There was a shortage of information. No menus. No times for breakfast and dinner. No local information ie. places to visit, etc.
The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The food was excellent and the staff were efficient and friendly. The car park was free and convenient.

A lovely room with a great view. The Restaurant was first class with both ordinary and Festive menus. Staff were hard working and attentive.

Some aspects of the hotel are very dated. Our room was an excellent size and was mostly clean but it was due a make over. The pool was large and clean, however the changing rooms were not very clean, they smelt bad and were very dated and in need of modernisation.
The staff were excellent. Welcoming and helpful.

Got allocated to a room which already had a guest in it. Mistakes happen but there wasn’t really an apology when I went back to reception to get it dealt with. I did get an apology this morning though on checking out.
