Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Pods were beautiful. Bathrooms were crystal clean. Everyone was very friendly. The free walking tour is highly recommended and the whiskey tasting in the cellar is a must do! 🥃😁👌🏼

United StatesI could have spent more time there :)
The female dorm room was very quiet. Fresh air from the window. Sturdy ladder up to a "pod" like a Japanese capsule hotel unit) with 2 USB jacks for charging, and little places to put things nearby. Luggage locker on which you create and use your own code worked well. The bathroom had clean, updated shower cubicles and I felt very comfortable and safe. Nice variety of breakfast items.

United StatesThe particular room I was in was next to the stairwell, but even there I was able to sleep. No other noise apart from that.
The double room was very updated and clean, with lovely soaps from Rituals. Similar in size and efficiency as the rooms in which I've repeatedly stayed in New York City (Pod 39). I'm in the city to see what's outside and then sleep. Lather, rinse, repeat. :)

United KingdomIt's hostel so don't expect frills and lounges. Being on the Royal Mile meant it was a little noisy into the night but once everyone had gone home it was very quiet.
Location is excellent but can be noisy while the Royal Mile closes down. Room was very comfortable and although a hostel having a private room wasn't so different to a hotel. For a city as expensive as Edinburgh this is an excellent low price option.

United KingdomThe beds could have been more comfy but that is just me and my bad back lol. The sleeping pods were great and so were the rooms. You get your own cupboard and coat hook.
Location was perfect as it was right in the centre of town and not even a minute walk to the Royal mile. The hostel is really modern, attractive and has everything you could need and want. I did not have the breakfast but apparently you can have waffles. Everything was clean and tidy and the staff were extremely helpful. Old town is really stunning and there is so much to do and see. I went on a ghost tour to Greyfriars Graveyard and the Edinburgh vaults which was just perfect for a horror nut like me.

United KingdomGetting in a top deck pod could be difficult at first until one gets use to it.
I liked the Court Code location and the young vibrant atmosphere of Court and Code. This is a unique establishment that accommodates all ages and types of people. The breakfast option was really good.

ItalyI highly recommend coming to sleep here. Clean, clean sheets, clean and new bathroom, friendly staff who were able to fulfill my every need and problem with other people making noise by talking loudly and shouting in the room while one wanted to rest. Excellent attention and response from the staff who scolded them twice, very kind, delicious. Located right in the center, just step outside and you have everything in front of you. Shops, historical landmarks. The hostel is equipped with a kitchen and various services. Very very nice, I will definitely come back here. Like feeling at home.

PolandVery thoughtful interior - in the pod you have 2 types of individual lights, shelf, 2 usb ports, a rail (e.g. for your towel) and a hook. Apart from that you have a locker, a long countertop so you don’t need to keep everything on your bad and a big mirror. Great location, cool interior and nice staff.

AustraliaStayed twice on a trip around Scotland. Pods are cosy, comfy and private. Building and room lockers secure and safe. Pod room and bathroom clean, quiet and tidy. Respectful fellow travellers. Lounge a great place to work or hang out, and kitchen tidy with everything you need. Location right in the middle of Old Town – perfect during festival season. As a 35+ woman travelling alone, I felt comfortable throughout both stays.

United KingdomI had a problem with my locker code number and had to go down to reception to get it sorted. Luckily it was an easy fix.
The location was as central as you could possibly get, a few yards off the Royal Mile. It was handy for transport. I liked the pod idea as it meant you had your own little space. The breakfast was really nice as well.

United KingdomSome of the guests can be rude and intrusive but that is not a reflection on the hostel staff, they are like family to me, that's why I've been 3 times this year..
I like that all the staff are friendly, helpful and polite and I love my friend Hayley who works her socks off!!💚

United KingdomBreakfast. Ordered day by day as things were not working...very badly layout. No signs/labels. When everything works, it's fine for £6 but waffle maker was not working. Coffee machine was not working and no sign to state that only 2 out of 4 slice toaster works. Ps. Don't understand the logic of the 'double' room design where you cannot access your bed except from the end of the bed? Chop off 2/3 of the wooden panels on either side of the bed will help.
The location. The conversions/sense of place.

New ZealandEven though I stayed in the “courtroom” which was around 30 beds/ pods in one room it was awesome!! Great layout, great room, comfy stay and no noise or unreasonable disturbances at all. Also very clean and well maintained standards throughout. Unbeatable location, and as a solo traveller would stay again. Highly recommend
