Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomI found nothing wrong with the place at all. There was cheaper options for other hostels but I believe the money paid for the hostel (£49) was well spent.
I arrived to a colorful back drop at the entrance, with calm music playing. Staff were very accommodating and respectful. It was my first time in Edinburgh (Scotland) and ever staying in a POD. I was very skeptical but they reassured me everything would be OK. They check your ID on arrival and show you around the facilities, you get your own personal locker which you can create your own personal code. The PODS are in bunkbed formation with about 12 PODS in our room. The bed were very comfortable, they included a USB charger bedside and a plug socket in the room, you also have a privacy curtain and a LED mood light in the POD. Although facilities are shared everywhere was spotless from the showers to the toilets to the walk ways and the rooms. Very impressed for shared facilities. Free fast wifi provided. Breakfast on request and complimentary Tea and coffee at the shared kitchen. The hostel provided free activities everyday along with free walking tours.

United KingdomThe location on the Royal Mile is absolutely fantastic, you couldn’t ask for a better hostel location! It is easy to find as well and the staff were wonderful when i arrived. I was explained to about the facilities and how to find my room well. The room itself is how I believe all hostel accommodation should be done! The pod style is a lot better than the bunk bed style. It immediately gives more privacy which I loved. I loved the curtain at the end as well to completely hide yourself. The lockers were great as well. Good bathrooms and showers. Felt safe as a solo female traveller as well. Fantastic for the price that you pay!

Canadapods are a bit stuffy and warm at night, especially if the dorm is full. problem was resolved by turning the thermostat down and opening up the windows though!
location was amazing!! very close to the train station, and right by the cathedral! there are walking tours that meet right outside and performers down the street. despite the central location, it wasn’t loud at night. the pods are cute and private, and the curtains do a good job of blocking the main light if you want to sleep earlier. lots of shelves and space to put things in the pods and the bathrooms (which were so nice and clean!), and the lockers are big enough to fit a carry on luggage.

AustraliaThe room I was in was situated right next to the stairs leading to the Lost Close so there would be crowds of people coming and going every now and then during the day which meant some noise if you're having a siesta
Perfect location right in the Royal Mile! Comfy and warm pod (got too hot actually that I had to sleep without the duvet). Loved the lighting in the pod itself as well as the motion-sensor blue light. Numbered locker that corresponds to your pod. In collaboration with The Lost Close that organises activities.

United KingdomThe bathroom is in another floor. I think it should have an accessible bathroom for women. So that we don’t need to go upstairs for the loo and shower
I like that it is cheap and clean. Also the curtains for more privacy.

GermanyFridges were very full, hard to fit your stuff in. You are not allowed to use the kitchen for your own breakfast, while they have their paid breakfasttime. Though you can still take your stuff from the fridge and eat it on the go. Some people don't understand that talking on the phone at 1am might bother your roommates, but other than that it was very nice, quiet and dark.
Labelling System for the fridge with stickers. Easy access with codes instead of cards, everything was clean. Perfect luggage storage option. Really nice staff.

United KingdomThe luggage storage room needs to have a CCTV it won't cost much but make a lot of difference in terms of safety.
The pods are quite comfortable. The rooms are tidy aswell. The lockers with pins are pretty easy to use and makes all the difference. If plug points were available inside the pods it would really help.
