Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GreeceThe listing was not clear enough that it’s a shared apartment with the actual host. We arrived late at night and found out that we are sharing the apartment with the host and that we only had a small room for that price.
It was ok for a single room

Owner of the apartment was very friendly and was happy to help with any information we needed. Room was clean, quiet and secure. We had everything we needed and places of interest were a short walk or tube journey away. The apartment building is situated in a lovely area. Right near the cable cars that take you over to the o2 arena. Water sports and a lively bar, all within 5 mins walk.

United Kingdomdidn't like the fact there were two doors into my bedroom, neither of which had a lock, so it made me feel a little unsafe. didn't like that the " private" bathroom was actually a shared bathroom down the hall. I've stayed in guest houses with owners in before, and usually there's some distance and has more of private feel to it, whereas this one felt pretty awkward. didn't like the fact that there was nowhere to keep your things safe ( i.e., being able to lock the door or put things in a safe), so I ended up having to lug alot of my things around with me
the location was lovely and easy to find from the tube. the owner was friendly and welcoming after some initial issues with timing and check-in times. appeared rude over message, but upon meeting him, he was friendly enough. I liked that there was a fan and fridge in the room that was very handy room was tidy but small. but as I was out from 7am- 11pm, it was okay. wouldn't want to have been in too much, though.

GermanyI arrived at the agreed time, but James was stuck in traffic and I had to wait outside in the windy weather for 45 minutes. These things can happen, but in such cases it would be good if there was a fallback plan, e.g. "My neighbour can let you in" or "Go to a nearby café and have a drink on me". Also in connection with getting to the place, it would have been nicer to have clearer instructions on the whole procedure. When you're travelling, you want to be reassured you will have place ready for you when you arrive. The apartment could have been a bit cleaner.
This is a great place to stay if you have to attend a conference at ExCel, especially if there's a threat of strikes affecting public transport. You can easily walk to the convention center in about 15 minutes. It's more personable than a hotel and the host, James, is courteous and practical, leaving you your own space, but available if needed. I'm not keen on heat, so when I asked him to turn down the heating, it was not a problem, even though it affected the whole apartment. The closet space is practical and the furnishing rather tasteful.

Czech RepublicVery noisy - there was a heavy traffic and construction site under the window. It is pity, otherwise we would spend more time on the balcony.
Friendly host James. We had a nice room and private bathroom. Well equipped kitchen was available as well. Very good wifi connection. Near DLR station. Beautiful view from window/balcony.

FranceThe bedroom was very small. There was a tiny desk, large enough to put a laptop on, but I found it still difficult to work in the room. The environment is extremely noisy, with an expressway, a train line and a construction site (24/7) right below the window and the airplanes from the City airport taking off above the building. The windows offer reasonably good noise protection, but the room was overheated for part of my stay, so I had the choice between heat (windows closed) and noise (windows open). The curtains were not opaque enough, so the room was bright from 6am. I didn't sleep well.
The host was extremely nice and helpful. He was available to answer any and all questions on the days he was around. The bed was comfortable and the room and apartment were clean.

NetherlandsAmazing place to stay if you don't mind having a friendly host living in one of the rooms. Stayed there for a week and wasn't bothered at all, yet he still asked me if I was doing fine and whether I needed anything. It's close to a metro station and there are cabs from Uber and Bolt everywhere thanks to the location. It's easy to travel both to the city centre and airports. Great recommendation from me!

PolandThis is an apartment where the owner lives, which is unusual for booking and is not apparent from the advert. The owner is very concerned about energy consumption, all electrical sockets were turned off, which we did not know at first and we had a problem using the appliances. The cleanliness of the room, bathroom and kitchen also raised concernsThe owner did not respect the night silence, after 10 pm there were loud phone calls, and when we returned to the apartment late on New Year's Day and went to wash late (around 1 am, he was up 15 minutes earlier), the owner, instead of politely pointing out that he wanted to go to bed and could I hurry up so it would be quiet, he turned off the light when I was in the bathroom and washing, and then yelled at me. The next day the light in the bathroom was turned off, which was ridiculous behavior. The apartment was very cold, when we asked for the radiators to be turned on, they were turned off the next day anyway. We would not choose this option again, the owner is not at all focused on guests.
Well-equipped kitchen, tea and coffee available. In the room there was an iron, ironing board, a large supply of towels. There were adapters for sockets available

United KingdomWe had a few issues with our stay. Firstly, there was a bottle of gone off milk in the fridge when we arrived. I wasn't too bothered in truth and I cleaned it out. But when James called Saturday afternoon to check everything was fine with our stay and I told him, he started to say that there couldn't have been any milk in there as he had checked it. It felt like he was implying I was lying about it which was plain bizarre. The worst part however was that we must have been close to the check out time of 12:30 before heading to the Excel. At around 15:30 I checked my phone for the first time and discovered I had missed calls from James and booking.com questioning why we hadn't informed him that we had checked out. We had never been asked to contact him when we left and followed the instructions we were given to just leave the key in the apartment. I then discovered he had attempted to charge us £92 for delaying him getting the cleaner in. I refused and still refuse to pay this. I told James I thought we had left around 12:15 for him to inform me he had footage of us entering the apartment at 12:29. I told him that I had only estimated our departure as I hadn't been checking the time but that I also assumed it wouldn't be a problem if we were a few minutes over. He then accused me of ignoring his and booking.com's calls and told me we should have been out by 12:00. Ultimately, he tracks people's entry and exit times very closely using the ring camera, and the fact that it hadn't recorded us leaving very shortly after 12:29 was a failure of the system he uses but he decided to instead blame us. The last message he sent me was, "We have no record of when you left that's if you have left" as though implying we were actually still in there! I'm not sure if he thinks we are actually still hiding in the flat even now!!!
The property is well located if, like us, you want to be near the Excel. Parking not costing extra was appreciated. James wasn't there for the two nights we stayed which meant we didn't have any awkwardness of sharing the flat and the lady who he had arranged to meet us for check in instead was lovely. I also think it's reasonable value if you compare it to the cost of some hotels in the area.
