Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomI know that work was going on in the hotel but the arrangements for breakfast were not very good. We were seated a long way from the food and the staff didn't seem to catch our eye when we needed more drinks. Disappointed.
THE SWIMMING POOL WAS EXCELLENT WITH CLEAN CHANGING ROOMS.

United KingdomActivities were extremely limited in winter time. Hotel appeared to be primarily aimed at children/families, but the marketing didn't emphasise that, I feel. Parking was narrow and tight. Further to the food options mentioned, only one establishment appeared to be centered around fine dining, and while part of the 'resort', it was off-site to the main hotel building.
I liked how sprawling the grounds were, I enjoyed the architecture. The hosting of a mini-museum was nice. There was a variety in food options. Breakfast boasted many, varied options in a very grand dining room.

United KingdomThe shower and bath could do with an extra good scrub round the edges. Some grout was visible.
The Duty Manager Karen is always such a darling. The Entertainment Team Roman and Nicole are incredibly kind. The food is exceptional. The waiting staff are lovely in the Meikle and beyond. How lovely to have mince pies available. Stockings hung on the doors at Christmas was wonderful. The hotel was beautifully decorated and cosy. The Winter Wonderland was just lovely, I would have liked more firepits though! Great to have the pool open so often.

United KingdomLack of information given at check-in regarding food and dining options. Adults swimming pool was absolutely freezing! Only two small lifts which meant long waiting times. Food takeaway options after 9pm are sparse, 24hour room service menu was very minimal. The festive train is absolutely not worth the money, it’s literally a lap round the hotel entrance area finished by a very weird AI looking generated movie shown inside a marquee at the end. Not festive at all, disappointed we stayed until the evening to do this on our check-out day but given the cost we didn’t want to just chuck the tickets. The ice skating was pretty rough, almost like it hadn’t been zambonied since last year, and at that was polished with a chainsaw. Another off putting thing was that I seemed to see several people at reception complaining on multiple occasions, some even refusing to pay their full bill. It was Xmas eve however so was extremely busy so I get standards may slip a little.
Overall the hotel was really nice and well kept. Room was spacious, ‘cosy’ and well made up. Bathroom a little mouldy but nothing too bad. Panto was brilliant both for both kids and adults. Plenty things to do to keep children occupied, and the animal man on Xmas eve was great. Kids disco at night too. Sadly our schedule didn’t allow us to catch any time in the cinema but there was around 3 movies a day being played! Kids pool is heated which was nice, Lao had an inflatable slide which came out at certain times which the kids loved. Reception and central areas were very festive and had a nice vibe. Saxo player, free mulled wine and mince pies too! Santa also doing the rounds in the reception so nice for the kids that didn’t get an official grotto visit. The two elves at the grotto were really good, extra shoutout to them as they dealt with a couple of kids that had disabilities/learning difficulties in the grotto group particularly well. All the hotel staff were very nice and attentive. Good spread at breakfast, however no pancakes or waffles like advertised on the online menu.

United KingdomWe went at Christmas and there was additional things to do which I understand you might pay additional for such as Santa’s grotto and ice skating. But they went too far this year. They even wanted to charge for a walk in their Christmas light garden. As guest of the hotel this felt very exaggerated and we refused to pay after having walked down.
Great hotel. Been coming here since I was a child. Facilities excellent, great for kids and so much to do.

United KingdomVery expensive to get involved in all the activities. Santas grotto. Winter wonderland. The price for the arcade games was extortionate and the Santa train should have been free really.
There was loads of entertainment for the children. This was our first trip away as a family of 3 so it was extra special especially with it being Xmas themed.

United KingdomRestaurant and breakfast food . Visited Meikle before and standard seems to have slipped food served barely Luke warm was really disappointed 😞 front of house lady really needs to improve her customer demeanour a smile helps felt quite an unwelcome upon arrival for a booking made months in advance. The young Australian girl from brisbane who looked after our Table was really lovely though so that made up for first impressions Breakfast quality and range is good but everything not very warm Investment in new hot plates or similar would cure only issue we had with stay

United KingdomTwo of the three ceiling lights in the bathroom were not working (reported to reception on departure) which made it feel quite dark. The hotel was quite busy on Sunday evening and it was difficult to get something to eat. Room seemed quite cramped.
Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The bathroom was clean with lovely fluffy towels. Lots of choice at breakfast and was able to sit near the window. Good choice of drinks in the various bars.
