Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNothing really - I guess if we were coming back we'd probably do it in the warmer weather but nothing you can really do about that.
The shepherd's hut is well thought out, with everything that you need for a comfortable stay - the beds are super-comfy! . The addition of the kettle, toaster and microwave and all crockery was really helpful for making breakfast. We loved the chickens and dogs coming to visit us in the morning too!

United KingdomLovely comfortable shepards hut to crash out in after a hard day's hiking in the mountains. On a pretty working farm with great views. The farms dog and hens came over and said hello!

United KingdomThe stunning location beats all possible perceived inconveniences associated with staying in a hut. Friendly responsive host. For those travelling on public transport like us the bus stop is just a stone throw's away.

United KingdomNil - it’s as described with a campsite style loo and shower in a separate structure. Went to bed and Garmin said I got 12h sleep. Perfect.
Exactly as described, I was there solo but would have been even better value as a group of hill walkers.

FranceA bit uncomfortable with kids to cope with bathroom and toilet outside, specially during the night. But this was clearly mentioned in the description.
The location was outstanding and the view on the mountains was just incredible.

United KingdomA drier path to the toilet from the cabin would be appreciated! The one toilet/shower room was shared with another cabin but you had to brave the wet to find out if it was occupied. A folding chair or two would add to the facility. The only seating was on the beds.
The hut provided a lovely glamping experience. The provision of bedding and towels was excellent. The view was superb! The shower room was clean and had heating (but not necessary for our visit in August).

United StatesWe didn’t realise that the bathroom would be shared with other guests. Apart from that it was great.
It was a lovely rustic cabin on a working farm. It was so nice and quirky in a fun way. We were greeted by roaming friendly pigs on our arrival. The owner was super friendly and very helpful. The cabin was extremely basic but the bunk beds had very comfortable mattresses.

United KingdomThere was no correspondence from the host which was a little disappointing. There was a nearly empty jar of water on the step of both caravans but no explanation to which caravan we should use or what the water was for. The outside.was a little unkempt.
The views are amazing. The beds were really comfy and the bathroom worked well. The children loved walking on the country road and really enjoyed their stay. Their favourite hotel on the holiday in their words. We went to the highland museum in the morning which is brilliant and about a minute away in the car.

United Kingdom- very very very cold at night, with a small radiator which tried it's best, bless it, but it was still too cold - there was bit of mold on the roof where the condensation would drip making the person on the top bunk very miserable - would be nice to have somewhere to refill water bottles, felt a bit strange going to the toilet tap for water
Very very cheap accommodation on New Year's Eve. The bathroom is a small walk away. There was a kettle and a microwave, and some cutlery. Stunning views in the morning of the surrounding mountains.
