Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Nothing at all
It was a lovely pub in the middle of a small quiet village. The food was excellent and the staff kind and friendly. I have no hesitation in recommending it 😊

Was hoping for lorne sausage and fruit pudding in my Scottish breakfast but porridge was delicious

Great location, quiet (birds singing, cattle lowing) superb food, good shower and linens - exceptional staff (helped us with storing our bikes) Lovely friendly feel to the place.

Perfect place to stay with our 10 month old baby. Our room was a great size with a lovely view. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed a fantastic dinner in the bar and they even catered for our baby even providing plastic cutlery for him. The character of the Inn was really lovely. I would highly recommend staying here.

The toilet lid argued with the handle on the water tnk and would'nt easily stay up! Oh! And I do like orange marmalade at breakfast time.....
The big room comfy beds, fluffy towels and the view. And the friendliness and efficiency of staff and ownere. And the menu. Interesting that the Hot tap switched the opposite way from 'normal'.

As in lots of hotels find only one chair provided which means somebody has to sit on the bed. Not the most comfortable. Frustrating.😚😚

Rooms were so comfortable. Evening meal delicious and good portions. Staff more than accommodating.
Lovely place to stay. So welcoming and accommodating. Adults, children, and dogs are well looked after. Would definitely recommend.

Cross Keys B&B provided us with a delightful weekend escape. Nestled in a charming, lovely country location, the B&B offers a traditional and welcoming atmosphere, complemented by exceptionally clean and comfortable bedrooms. The high standard of bedding and well-regulated warmth through the night ensured a restful stay. The B&B is perfectly situated for exploring the surrounding area, offering access to wonderful local walks and a short driving distance to stunning locations such as the Grey Mare's Tail and St. Mary's Loch. Furthermore, its proximity to the Borders and Scotland's farther reaches makes it an ideal base for further exploration. The staff and food perfectly matched the charm of this lovely Scottish retreat, leaving us with a desire to return.

The sound from the bar when there is late night entertainment travels, and the hot breakfast in the morning was mediocre and luke warm unfortunately
