Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Czech RepublicFor the price we paid I didnt expect something luxourious, it wasnt, but it was ok, even sofa was comfortable. I would only recommend to focus more on cleaning especially in the bathroom and also one of the sheets doesnt looked like washed - I didnt use it. Otherwise we had everything we need. If I go to Scotland again, I would choose the same house again.
Appartment has perfect location in calm street, its very quiet even though it is close to the city centre offers lot of privacy. This location allows you to use public transport (bus station and train station in short distance). Also good for shopping. And few minuts walk to beautiful Dunfermline abbey. Its for affordable price.

CanadaThe bathroom could use a good scrub. There was a dirty cleaning cloth left in the bathroom sink. Other people’s leftover toiletries are not appealing. Light switch in kitchen was clipped every time when closing the fridge door (which opens opposite to cupboards) and turned off light. There were no sharp food prep knives at all. Kind of fundamental for kitchens.
Good location for exploring Dunfermline. Washing machine.

NetherlandsWas not clean enough and when you turn on the light in the bathroom, the air extractor made a terrible noise, really annoying.
The apartment is good if you stay one or two nights. Well located near the city centre of Dunfermline (small town with a lot of story and important buildings) and also close to bus and train station that takes you to Edinburgh centre

United KingdomThe entrance of the property is a narrow alleyway which gives us a negative opinion about the property at the first sight. Parking is a major issue while loading and unloading our belongings. Free parking is in a 5min walkable distance but still it is difficult when its raining and also having small kids. You are expected to park at Eligin Street across the road. More cleanliness in the kitchen will be appreciated. The switch for the kitchen is next to the fridge door, whenever you open and close the fridge door it switch off the lights which is bit annoying.
We liked the living room with sofa bed and dinner table is good.

United KingdomThe neighbour came to my door at 2:46am to ask me to stop the noise. I showed him the old heating equipment making the noise. He saw that it wasn't me, apologised, and left. There is no way to " peace sleep ". There's no Netflix, no channels, like in the ad wifi extremely bad. Everything is very old—even towels , kitchen, bedroom, bathroom—it doesn't work well. All apartment needs to " REAL CLEANER ". I tried to help cleaning maximum that I can ( that's not my business). Owner is very polite, great to communicate , but unfortunately doesn't fix any problem. Location is nice 15 min walking from city center .

United KingdomExtremely dirty, complaint to booking.com has been made. I would never recommend and would strongly advise anyone thinking of booking this flat. Again I have made a formal complaint and I await the outcome. In my opinion this property should not be listed. I have many photos of dirty bedding to a disgusting bathroom complete with an old bar of soap. Dirty sponge in kitchen as well as washing cloths.

I am very bad asthmatic that is far too much dust for me. I could feel it in my chest cleanliness of the bathroom is despicable.
