The mattress was quite firm and stained. The bathroom looked tired...some mould, although clean enough.

The breakfast offered good choices and I eat a plant based diet

Staying in student dorms was an affordable option with some slight drawbacks.

The rooms were student dorm rooms - sparsely furnished and it was noisy at night with people talking and slamming doors all night. This is a great place to stay if you're looking for an affordable place to stay, but bring your ear plugs for a good night's sleep.

Stay in student housing during summer vacation definitely provided an affordable option during our stay in Edinburgh. The location was a 30-minute walk from the Royal Mile but an easy bus ride with multiple bus lines to choose from. The breakfast in the student cafeteria had good options and was the highlight of the stay.

It was kind of hard to find the reception and the buildings, but this could be an “us” problem. Haha

A few things weren't in good condition. These include: the light over the mirror in the room, the wardrobe hinge wasn't in good shape and the tap for the sink in the shower room wasn't working

The breakfast was fantastic. The environment with lots of trees around was great for me! Overall, my expectations were met, and I'll not hesitate to recommend this accommodation for anyone.

accommodation is very basic student but what you would expect I suppose for some reason don’t seem to provide hand towels ? anyway young man at reception gave me what he thought was hand towel turned out to be bathmat reception always very busy we stayed 4 nights ..provided with 1 nights supply in hospitality tray ie tea coffee milk etc ..no room service so had to keep queuing at reception to replenish supplies and staff seemed reluctant to give out much at a time in fact practically accused of taking more than needed or stealing ! as if ! put it down to young inexperienced staff comparing their own student behaviour to mature working person ! .. very small tv remote didn’t work asked for batteries given wrong ones thought Jmcc restaurant limited evening meal one price of £20 was too much if young man eat what you can buffet might be good value but neither my daughter or myself would have wanted to eat that much

great central location with good public transport links at hand nice grounds huge breakfast choice great staff eager to help bar had reasonably priced food and excellent staff

Long wait to check in. Instructions not clear as to where the Reception Centre to check in was. Shared bathrooms could be better, seemed like it wasn’t cleaned during my 2-night stay there. Lift/elevator was spoiled so had to climb up and down 4 storeys with my luggage

Student hostel so cannot expect much. Bedroom sufficiently clean and cosy. Water sink and mirror in own bedroom was handy. Breakfast spread was great with good variety. Good location to hike up Arthur’s Seat since it’s right behind. A few bus stops away to city centre too, but if you want to walk it’s around 20-30 mins away

too much waiting time to check in and check out, beds were short for a relatively tall man and mattresses were not comfortable, finally the distance from the city centre a bit longer on foot than expected.
