Beds were surprisingly very comfortable! Room was clean and cosy - and such good value! Breakfast was great - lots of options. Place had everything we needed - we were there for the Fringe and it was perfect for using as a base. Would stay again!

Coffee/Tea facilities in the room would have been nice. THE toilet/shower room light wasn't working after night 1. Bit of a walk into the city centre, about 30mins.

Beautiful setting, right beside the beautiful Athurs seat which is spectacular. Check in staff were very friendly. Breakfast was fantastic. Nice lively buzz around, lot's of people coming and going.

Breakfast was disappointing: no muesli (other than gluten free). Canteen quality cooked breakfast. The walk to another building is not convenient when it's raining! Check in was poorly managed and much too slow. Only 2 on the desks and some interactions seemed to take a long time. Although 4th in line when I arrived, it took more than 20 minutes to get to the front. We were given only one room key (for 2 people) which was inconvenient on some occasions as the key was necessary to get into the building and again to use the lift or the stairts as well as for the room itself. Two should be issued as routine when a couple book a twin room. Whilst cheaper than city centre hotels, it was not much cheaper than other options in the same part of the city. Overall, I feel they need to up their game.

All the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable. Breakfast was very good, with an excellent choice. The grounds were almost like being in a botanic garden, and there was the amazing backdrop of Holyrood Park, so close.

Staffperson gave us wrong information about taxi to airport (it only takes about 30 minutes). Carpet in dorm hallways is filthy.
