Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. The apartment was pristine and we were greeted by Mark on arrival who is super helpful and friendly. The room is spacious enough and has everything you would need for a short break and was great value for money. Me and my partner stayed here for a gig at the o2 academy and the location was perfect. Everything we needed including the amazing Brixton village was within a 5 minute walk. If you are nervous about booking somewhere that isn't just your own space and are a little unsure me and my partner would fully recommend booking this apartment. You will not be disappointed! Thank you Mark for being a great host.

Mark is an adorable, really available and discreet host. The room was so comfy and the all appartement is decorated with very good taste. It is really well located, Brixton is nice place to stay.

everything was great !
We had a great stay at Mark's place ! The room was perfect for our needs and we had our own bathroom which was very convenient. The location is great. Very close to Brixton metro stop, a lot of cool bars and restaurant in the area. Mark is a great host ! We totally recommend the place !

Everything was great, just bed was bit small for couple, but for solo traveler it would fit very well
Really nice clean apartment with friendly host, it was very well equiped and with tube you could be in city center in few minutes

The flat is so comfortable,clean, bright, not far from the tube ( 15 min walk through the market) , Mark is adorable .we felt at home. I'd recommend this place and I would come back.

There's nothing not to like at this property
Mark is a friendly host and jolly good fellow. He Shows you around, checks up on you for any assistance and shivers you space to feel at home. Easy access to facilities and share his personal space freely. It was a lovely experience and I'll definitely recommend this smart home again n again. Another good part is the availability of bus for easy movement in Loughborough park.

Security, modern technology, but while these were good the welcoming, friendly and helpful host - Mark was even more important. We were privileged to share Mark’s lovely apartment including his kitchen and living room. My wife wanted to take his couch away when we left. A terrific host. Great food and drink restaurants a short walk away too.

We stayed in Marks Apartment for 10 nights and could not have wished for more :) Mark is a great host and made our trip to London very enjoyable! He was very helpful to answer our questions and had great recommendations for restaurants or possible places to go. Our room had its own bathroom, a wardrobe and a dresser to store our stuff in. We could use the kitchen and had enough space in the cupboard/refrigerator and freezer. Everything was very clean and we could get new towels/toiletries at any time. Brixton is a lively neighbourhood but Marks Apartment is in a quieter area. You can get to central Brixton very fast and there are lots of possibilities to use public transport to get around in London. We enjoyed our holiday in London very much and are very happy to have stayed at Marks Apartment :) And thanks again for the great cupcakes!
