Lovely and homely upstairs room with a great view. Lots of added extras like a coffee machine, biscuits and a multitude of different teas to make a really welcoming stay. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was huge and luxurious and the breakfast which was brought to our room was exceptional. Although very close to the seafront it was remarkably quiet and peaceful and we were very grateful for the convenience of being able to park right outside. The host also very kindly let us stay in our room later than the check out time as it was a cold day and we had a gap of time before meeting some friends. We would definitely like to stay here again in the future.

Beautiful place. Above our expectations. Every little detail thought about. Cosy, peaceful and a beautifully presented breakfast brought to our room. Fabulous bath with all oils and luxuries provided including soft robes and slippers. No TV which was lovely but a selection of games in the drawer. We felt every drawer had a surprise. We loved our stay and will definitely be returning.

The room was absolutely stunning, the bathroom with that beautiful roll-top bath, was an unexpected surprise! The house was very peaceful, comfortable and relaxing- I slept like a baby. The views are spectacular up on the hill and the surrounding West Hill area is gorgeous. Breakfast was delivered to our room at 9am and was delicious. Therd was nothing whatsoever to not like!

Rooms was lovely- views were amazing and the facilities exceeded our expectations. Host was very accommodating and helpful and the breakfast served to the room was great. Location was a short walk to the old town, so everything felt very accessible. We’d recommended West Hill Villa Retreat to anyone visiting Hastings!

I would have likes a small TV, but I do know that would not fit the nature of the house. It would be helpful if we could make contact by phone not apps and on arrival when it was dark we could not reed the code to access the keys,

The attention to details the breakfast was very nice, healthy with extra touches. The bath was a real joy after a long day with bath robes. We enjoyed the space and decor.

Location on top of the hill was a bit of a climb but not a major problem,.

We arrived with a couple of friends as we had a wedding that weekend, as we arrived we dropped our bags and helped our very pregnant friend up the stairs to the loft room and also heling with all their bags. Unfortunately the owner felt the need to come up and tell us off for talking and making too much noise - we had literally just walked in and were carrying bags and helping. We were told to be quite and be respectful of other guests in the B&B. We understand that the owner lives in the same house but getting told off right off the bat was not a nice welcome. We felt like we had to whisper our whole stay there.

The breakfast to the room was spectacular - Everything was so well though-out and the jam she shared I believe was homemade and absolutely delicious. The room was immaculate and the bathroom was very big. We even got a little basket with facemasks, creams, makeup removal etc. It really is the little small details that make a place wonderful. I highly recommend this place.

The host, Madeleine, was exceptional – friendly, full of recommendations, and non-intrusive. The breakfast spread was unlike any I've ever had in such a place, and we felt very special enjoying it while sitting in the sunshine beaming into our room. The bedroom is beautiful, but the bathroom is a thing of utter wonder – everything is geared towards you feeling happy in your own little space. The bed was also so comfortable. We loved it here.

There was nothing we didn’t like about the property. We thought it was excellent value and we really enjoyed our stay.

We booked this as a last minute extension to a trip we made to Rye and we are glad we did. We normally stay in hotels so we were a little uncertain what to expect. After booking we received very clear instructions on how to check in and where to park our car. On arrival at the property the road leading up to it is narrow but the car is parked in a safe place across the road - so no problems there. Self check in went smoothly and we were very pleased with the accommodation. We probably arrived on the hottest day of the year (September!) but the crisp white walls and the open windows with views over Hastings soon had us relaxed. The bed was comfortable and we had a good nights sleep. Check-out in the morning was 10am but breakfast was brought up to the room by the owner at 9am. The breakfast was beautifully prepared and presented and a real highlight of our stay. We would thoroughly recommend West Hill Villa Retreat.

Leaving, would have loved to stay longer

This place is a little gem, from the unexpected views and the simple touches such as filtered water, and essential oils for the bath that made the room very special. The breakfast was a special treat served with love.

I could not fault it.

The accommodation was in a lovely location with beautiful panoramic view over Hastings and only a very short walk away were beautiful views from the top of West Hill of the sea and the harbour. Each day was started with a wonderful breakfast brought to the room by the hostess. Not only was the breakfast delicious with fresh fruits and preserves it was always very beautifully presented. In all it is a lovely, clean, bright and spacious room and was a beautiful place to stay.

We really enjoyed our stay and struggled to find anything we didn't like! Our fridge had turned off so we needed fresh milk in the morning but Madeline was so accommodating and really easy to communicate with.

Really gorgeous room and the bathroom was stunning. Beautifully decorated and lots of thoughtful touches. Bed was super comfy and breakfast was delicious. Perfect for a couple!
