Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyWe had a room with a double bed which was a bit small.
The Kings Cross Guess House is near to the Kings Cross Station so you have good connections to public transport and can reach it quickly when travelling to London via Kings Cross station. You have access to a kitchen. Be aware that you share the bathroom and the kitchen with other guests. This was never a problem. The Check-In is contactless.

United KingdomEverything with the property was great but the company was not great with getting in touch over email very promptly which was slightly inconvenient
Good location and great facilities for the price point. Stairs are very skinny so you feel like Bella Hadid walking up them :)

New ZealandUnfortunately the bed was uncomfortable as the mattress was too light and soft for our likely as we could feel the springs on the bed.
The property was very clean and it was a great location as it was close to kings cross station and easy to get around from there.

ItalyThe room was very big, the bed on the other hand was extremely small, I was always afraid to fall down. The heating in the room was too high and since it was the room that controlled also the shared areas, if we turned down the heating because in the room it was too hot someone else pushed it back up as the common areas were then too cold. The share bathroom was alright. The host was nice and gave us all the necessary informations. The location was excellent 10 minutes walking from kingcross station. In the area there are plenty of restaurants, the only negative note on the location was the bins right outside the door which were always full and some times there was rubbish also on the doorway.

AustraliaVery comfortable and also close to both international and underground train stations to allow for travel around quickly in London or wanting to go visit elsewhere in the country. A lot of reviews mentioned about the trains being loud, yes it's there more of a vibration but being out all day travelling and exploring you won't be bothered by it at the end of the day, my partner is also a very light sleeper and it wasn't an issue. Great to have a shared kitchen which you can cook or save on some money if you wish. Shared bathroom and laundry/dryer sometimes an issue when waiting but when we have been exploring all day it's not an issue late at night. For washing and drying there is also a self-serve one that we used on the final day about 700m down the road. Communication between Andrew was really good and he was helpful on the day of our arrival with the lock box, code and some other information. It was a good time spent there.

CanadaThere were no signs of Frederick House on the street. The bathroom was shared on the upper floor and it was not mentioned on Booking.com in the ad. There was no luggage storage provided and the check in time is 3:00 PM so if you arrive there early, you will be stuck with the luggage. The air in the room was very dry and hot, and I was not able to regulate the heating.
Location of the property was good. Although where it is located, there was no sign of this particular guest house so when I got there, I got confused and was looking for a sign of the Frederick house.

United StatesI was traveling transatlantic and requested and early check in - twice. This was completely ignored. The front door doesn't lock property and there are no instructions on securing it. It had no en suite, but then booking.com doesn't let you set this up in the searches, nor does it stop you ending up with multiple occupancy rooms. A reason I will be deleting my account after this experience. No woman wants to share a bathroom - or a room with strange men. It's ridiculous booking.com don't allow this to be search filter. The place was also noisy.
It was clean and new - IKEA furniture, but fine.

TaiwanRoom is clean but noisy due to the building resided above rail tracks. Trains come and leave more than once every minute from 5 AM till midnight, which remains big noise even the window is shut. Cannot sleep well if you need to sleep in a relative quite condition. No fan and no air conditioner not easy to close the window while staying in the room. So, noise is problematic
Rooms and public bath rooms are new and clean.

United KingdomMy only issue was the train line running next to the property but it was expected and the price reflected it. Maybe the addition of a TV in the room or a monitor to cast from a device would be good.
The property was spotless, very clean. It is finished toma high standard and has all the right amenities. The bathroom were lovely and the kitchen a real bonus.
