Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomUnable to have our Sunday lunch at the Hotel as we were told the restaurant was fully booked, we tried to book at approx 10.30 for lunch any time during that day, we were in and out several times and each time there were several empty tables in the restaurant ? we had lunch in a local pup, we asked if we could order from the room service menu at the hotel and were given the same menu as from the main restaurant, so I assume we could have had Sunday Lunch in our room ?
Very good and nice and hot.

United KingdomThe sausages were good quality but rather anaemic, needed browning. The room was small, the bed a small double and not comfy, there are no curtains in any of the bedrooms, just cream vertical blinds which affected our quality of sleep, and the noise from outside. The walls were thin, we did ask to move rooms but hotel was apparently full, but then when i complained about the tv blasting in the room nextdoor they decided they had just had a cancellation. It's not a cheap hotel and we expected more, in the way of comfort. A glass of wine and a pint of lager £18 !! It amused us how the staff all spoke in fake overly posh accents to guests, but in conversations between each other they spoke in their normal accents 😂 seemed OTT really.
Breakfast was really nice quality and plenty of choice, although it was a paid per person added extra. We also had lunch there which was also lovely, this was also a paid for extra ££

United KingdomWe were looking forward to dining at the hotel expecting that a table would have been reserved for us. We were told on arrival they were fully booked. We did not receive an email giving us the opportunity to reserve. Also the lighting in our room 140 was not practical. there was no light switch reachable from our beds. Also the lift was out of order and yet no member of staff to help with luggage on the stairs. All in all very disappointing.

United KingdomRoom 133 is on the first floor next to the outside illuminated sign and constant traffic going past until the early hours , very noisy as it's near the roundabout! The room also had a faint body odour smell so I had to open the window on arrival. In the end I had to close the window due to the traffic noise which I found uncomfortable . When I arrived I asked the receptionist if I could have a quiet room as I was extremely tired due to a long drive, I was very disappointed she put me in this room. I didn't get much sleep on the first night due to the noise which spoilt my first full day with family in Cleethorpes. I was also told all single rooms at this hotel only have showers , I have stayed previously on my own and had a bath ! I do enjoy a bath after a long drive so not sure why I was told this I found this disappointing if this is the case . I asked on arrival if the room had a bath and if it was quiet and this is what I was told . I accept if this is the new policy but don't understand why I was given this room given the levels of noise from traffic .
I stayed for two nights . I had to move rooms after a very uncomfortable first night. The room I moved to was much more comfortable less noisy but from 6.30am corridor noise sounded like someone was fixing something .

United KingdomWe couldn’t park at the hotel as all the spaces were taken up by lunch visitors. We had to park some 75m down the road. We were told that there would likely be spaces available later in the day if we wanted to move our car but not ideal. Room prices appear to be around £65 but not on bank holiday weekends. We paid £135 for room only for one night which was very overpriced for a standard double in what was the former attic of the building and was very hot. When standing up from the toilet you also banged your head on the shower screen during to lack of space. We had a nice view of the car park of the building across the road too. All in all, not great.
Great location on the seafront.

United KingdomThe breakfast was inedible and we waited almost an hour. The staff told me there were problems in the kitchen - they were not wrong! When we checked out, no one asked if we had enjoyed our stay (I think they knew the answer so didn’t bother asking). This would have been more understandable if it was a basic B&B but the hotel considers itself to be quality accommodation: it definitely wasn’t. I very rarely leave bad reviews but this hotel was the worst value for money I have stayed in. I would have expected to have the breakfasts comped as they genuinely were inedible but there wasn’t even an apology let alone an attempt at redress.
The property was conveniently located on the seafront and had parking. The communal rooms were lovely.

CanadaI did not have a cell phone with me. I could not make local calls from the room. No telephone service nor access to a terminal linked to internet were provided. Also the menu for both the bar and the dining room did not vary in a week and one was not able to get small snacks like a scone or a tea cake with a cup of tea. Additionally, it was requested to get a reservation for the dining room even though you were a guest.
It would be better if breakfast came with the room. It was a bit of a rip off @18.5 pounds.

United KingdomThere was too much light ingress and this kept us awake There were smart looking vertical blinds but they did not keep light out at the edges Fortunately we had one sleep mask with us so my partner could go back to sleep I regretfully had to sit reading in the bathroom for hours during the night For those rooms on the sea front where there are not only street lights but also hotel lights please would you consider whether using blackout curtains would benefit guests So much of this hotel is excellent so this is a small thing to make it even more so
Evening meal and Breakfast was excellent Staff extremely attentive and helpful Room very clean and well decorated Very modern bathroom and Really nice shower

United KingdomFirst room I was allocated should not be available to the public until works are fully complete. The rooms adjacent to my room were being built and it was possibly the worst overnight stay I've had in 20 years of travelling/working. I was switched rooms to the opposite side of the hotel the following night and never received a refund/voucher or anything to compensate the frustrated, sleepless night previous which I found strange for such a well established hotel.
