    A kip

The worst hotel I ever stayed in I had stayed previously and I was freezing cold as the quilt was as thin as a sheet slept with my clothes on as no heating what so ever 3 weeks later it was 10 pm at night couldn't get another hotel I booked again but asked for a proper quilt stated I was freezing last time I stayed there the guy grumpy old got went and got a throw over and again had to wear clothes on.in bed never again it looked manky old and unkept for decades a hostel would be better and such a lovely location £50 not a lot for a room. But at least put on the heating if u put homeless folk in there the council would move them

The hot water tap on the hand basin seemed to be faulty as there was barely a trickle coming from it with the tap fully open.

Friendly staff and the free parking. I am sure the view would have been quite nice, but it was dark when I arrived and dark when I left.

Paper thin walls and lots of noise disturbance from the bar or the kitchens downstairs. Room freezing cold and only a thin summer duvet provided, so got no sleep whatsoever. Whole place in dire state and desperate need for complete refurbishment. Staff disinterested in their roles. Wasn't even asked about how my stay was, they were more concerned with continuing their conversation.

Our booking at the Lancaster Hotel was a last minute thing as we arrived in Oban early. I had read various comments before booking which were a bit mixed but glad I went ahead with the booking. It is an old fashioned hotel there is no doubt and it is a little tired but its charm makes up for it. It was not expensive, the breakfast was generous and the staff welcoming. Our room had a wonderful view of the bay and we could walk along the seafront and quite easily into the town. I am glad we stayed. I think it is most under rated and it is charming. We wish them well.

The rooms are small and the furniture is very old. Very poor light. If you are a girl and try to ware makeup forget it. The light is impossible. You can't do any makeup in the room or bathroom.

The location is great very close to Oban Town center. The hotel has a small free car park. Also they accept pets. The hotel reception staff Cameron is an amazing guy. Very friendly and very helpful.

The bedroom, decoration on a par and older than with my 1982 bedsit, ancient tatty furniture. Sliding door to the tiny en suite. Ancient shower smelling of damp. Inadequate heating. No shampoo provided, no hospitality biscuits - both outrageous at that price. Fruit juice for breakfast left in glasses on the table covered rather weirdly with cling film as opposed to poured straight from the fridge. The whole hotel looks tatty, rundown and needs complete redecoration for this millennium or one massive price reduction. At £65 a night or below we might have found the experience amusing.

The sea view although it was raining most of the time. The staff were very friendly and helpful but absolutely up against the condition of the hotel.
