Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThey didn’t provide towels which should be a basic service for all hosts. This was most inconvenient because we were travelling light and did not bring any towels. My family and I were on a road trip across Scotland and had already stayed in several places on our journey, (all had provided towels). What annoyed me the most was the excuse, (covid!). Apparently covid spreads more easy with body towels but tea towels and bed linen are fine. When I questioned this I was offered the opportunity of ‘hiring towels’ for £4.50 each which was even more confusing as I thought they did not provide towels at all?? All seemed like a wonderful ploy to make more money off exhausted travellers who just want to get clean at the end of a long day. On principle I did not agree and went a brought towels which add unnecessary time and stress to our journey. Such a shame as this tainted our stay in this beautiful place and we will not be returning as a result.
Location was stunning

United KingdomThe owner Graham , certainly wasn’t welcoming and upset our first day of our holiday. Thankfully we didn’t see him again. There is a part of the worktop that folds out but certainly isn’t secure enough to use as a table and not are there any stools or chairs to sit there We did travel with a family of 5 and found it small for this number but I better weather we could have utilised outside to ease this
Love Dalavich every time we visit it’s fab and the community centre and the village shop as so welcoming and helpful. We stayed in seil cabin with the added extra of the hot tub The cabin is basic but had everything we needed The red squirrel came to visit

DenmarkThe road to Dalavich. We know this is one of the reasons it is nice and quiet :-) The forest and the Loch is nice, but we only “discovered” the nearby area, as we only took the road in and out one time. We had a good time, but nevet got to the dam and castle on the north of the Loch due to the road.
Nice place to relax and be by youself

United KingdomThe property is not for 6 adults unless you like to be squashed. Shown pic of 2 adults on the sofa with little room left. When we arrived after our rollercoaster journey on a 16 mile single track road there were workman outside which was the noise we had for an hr or so. There was no meet and greet or directions as to where our cabin were. Luckily we met someone on site who took us to our cabin.
Extremely disappointed. Advertised great loch views my sole purpose of booking it. Our view was overgrown shrubbery and no hint of a loch view. Advertised Sky TV however you could not get any signal for normal TV.

United Kingdommore logs for the hot tub would have been better . also maybe sending the opening times of the local shop would have been appreciated. we arrived on the Monday to find out it wouldn’t be open til the Wednesday. it wasn’t a major inconvenience but it would definitely have been better to know ahead of time

United Kingdomonly problem was cleaning for us. I am sure they didn’t hoover the house. In the bathroom there was so many hairs on the floor. Also on the bed I found lots of hairs and let them know. They brought new bedding set but still it wasn’t so nice to find someone else’s hair.
we have stayed in Pine Marten. It was so comfortable and we found what we need for stay. We really enjoyed our stay.

United KingdomThe decking and outside area was in dire need of replacement and the decking hadn't been cleaned for sometime. The cabin is compact & the bunkbed room is really too small for anyone other than small children. We stayed with our 14 year old and she found the room claustraphobic. Nicely furnishished but in no way is it luxurious. We missed the fact when booking that bath towels weren't included and dissappointed that my call about this wasn't returned. The bathroom is basic and had a student flat vibe to it. Having to pay extra for using the hot tub seems unfair. Not good value for money at all!
We stayed in Kilchurn No 19. The cabin had a terrific loch side view and the position gave us privacy for the hot tub. Kitchen was well equipped.

United KingdomThere wasn’t a gate on the verandah/patio area so we had to put things across the stairs so our dogs could roam in and out without wandering into the forest.
The cabin was in a perfect location, in the quiet forest park, less that 2 minute walk to the Loch shore. The hot tub was completely private but with no view restrictions. Cabin felt cozy but had ample space. Wood burning fire kept the whole place toasty. It was the perfect spot for paddleboarding and walking the dogs.
