Nothing that I noticed.

I stayed here for one night in low season but the hotel was nicely situated, the owner was very welcoming as were the other guests I ended up spending the evening with in the bar and the breakfast, along with the lady who served it, was spot on. I will book again around the same time next year as I expect to be on a similar trip.

To be honest.... the cobwebs!! I hate them!! And probably the floor could have done with a hoover. But I think they were short staffed.

The food was excellent!! Definitely going back there again.

Our room was quite dusty, lots of feathers under bed. Not many toiletries and no biscuits in room. t v reception very bad, not easy to watch.

staff and owner very friendly and accomodating. Dinner was excellent and reasonably priced. Hotel decked for Christmas with huge tree and a log fire in the hall, looked lovely. Very dog friendly.

The decor is very old and sad. A lift would be advantageous.

The staff were all very helpful, one lady in particular I would like to mention,she showed us to our room and also looked after us in the morning. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was vey good with plenty of choice.

Breakfast wasn’t great! The lady who served us could have been more attentive! Eggs were over done for two of us and when asked for beans her reply was, it’s not your day today is it!!!

The hotel was lovely the bar was kept open for us! We stayed in the lounge until about 2am watching films with an open fire

The real difference here is that there is a comfortable and spacious, warm sitting-room open to guests all the time. In terms of facilities this is worth a lot to the solo traveller as the smaller bedrooms seldom have a significant seating area.

There were several little gaps in the bathroom where spiders could easily hide so these could be filled in to give guests who don't like spiders reassurance. Double glazing would be useful, but I expect the building is listed and so alterations are not allowed.

The dinner and breakfast were very well cooked and the room was warm and comfortable. The lounge was a good place to socialise or just to relax. The staff were helpful and the building itself was very interesting.

No toiletries in room. One staff member was either poorly trained or disinterested in job. Room had a lovely tissue box but no tissues. Tea coffee making facilities were present but only 2 milk portion pots for a party of 2 for 2 nights . No housekeeping during our stay

Room needs attention as lots of dust. Only one person doing the breakfast, looks like cooking & serving. No jam. Croissant was on the menu but was told had to be ordered Why ? Not told to oreder beforehand
