The location was beautiful. The staff were exceptionally friendly, especially the waiting staff in the restaurant. The food was good and very reasonably priced.

The dining room needs updating. Breakfast was good but new linens and draperies would help, didn't consider it for dinner. Jacuzzi tubs are dated in the new normal (pandemic) of 2022; few people would consider using a tub with internal plumbing that can't be thoroughly cleansed and sanitized. Take my advice, spend the money to put in updated walk in showers/fixtures like every other hotel! Your guests will be happier and your business will increase.

Loved the history, wasn't aware of the "caravans" out back - if so, we might have stayed there! Better signage on the road, you don't see the turn until you're on it and traffic can be right on your tail.

Didn't like the bathroom door, not a fan of being on full view when using the toilet. Rooms need some TLC. Pics on website are a bit deceiving as rooms look much nicer on pics. Outside is beautiful and inside could be spectacular as it is a fabulous building

Location great. Staff really nice. Breakfast really good, Location is great. Was good for us as family live 3 miles away. Beds were very comfortable and nice towels.

The atmosphere in the hotel was a little "shabby" but if this was improved to a 4-5 star standard it would cost twice the priceII You get what youpay for!

Everything was lovely; food good, lovely cocktails, service great. As is commonplace in hospitality these days, they seemed as though they needed at least one more staff member so as not to appear stretched, but everyone that dealt with us was pleasant and attentive.

Beautiful location, historic building, lovely interior, slightly quirky and grand. Lovely four poster room with whirlpool bath.

It's a big big house to take care of, so there were a few cobwebs about but I think this just added to the charm and quirkiness as long as you don't mind a spider or two!

Large spacious room newly decorated bedroom and installed new children's beds on day of visit Impressive house from outside and grounds great for adventuring children. Host was friendly and nothing too much trouble. Inside is very quirky! All rooms very individual which made for a more interesting stay. Location is beautiful and stonesthrow from little town and activities. Staff all friendly especially lady at breakfast who I didn't get her name sadly. Would love to return later in the years when those figs on the tree in the grounds will hopefully be ripened and on offer on the menu! Thank you for a lovely stay.

Parts felt tired - leaky toilet and radiator, broken blind, signs of damp as an old building.

Dinner menu, portions, quality and price were excellent. Size of the family room was brilliant.

The only complaint we had was the shower in our room which was abysmal! There was hardly any any pressure at all - if we had been staying more than 2 nights we would have complained.

The dining room was excellent as was the standard of the food.

Some of the decor looks a bit faded..otherwise no complaints.

Lovely setting and really convenient location to use as a base. Free car park located close to the front entrance door. Pleasant and helpful staff.The food choice and quality is exceptional and would happily stay here again.

Noise levels when arrived next door they were drilling and banging from the moment we checked in at 14.30 hrs until 18.00 hrs Not cleanest venue we’ve been to and the net curtains could do with a wash in the bathroom and replacing We wouldn’t return as not good value for the premium money you pay
