Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomB&B usually means cooked breakfast, but we had facilities for doing our own toast, had cereals, biscuits, muffins, fruit and a mini fridge for yogurts and milk. All completely fine, just unexpected. Bed was on the soft side.
Maggie was lovely, very helpful and attentive. Beautifully renovated local chapel, good views over fields. Close to Bognor Regis beach and other facilities (short drive) and a little further to lovely Chichester town.

United KingdomIt was all perfect. Nothing to dislike. If we were being really picky, we'd have liked it to not be raining so we could enjoy the surroundings a bit more - but that is absolutely nothing to do with the host or the accommodation.
Everything about our stay was wonderful. Our little welcome text from Maggie was just the icing on the cake really - she really paid attention to the finer details in the room as well - the breakfast supplies were outstanding, and we may have overindulged as a result! The bathroom was lovely and clean, supplied with everything we needed.

United KingdomNothing we didn’t like.
Everything, it was a lovely find, everything was exactly as described and Maggie was great on communication if we needed her but left us to our own devices. Warm, cosy, lovely views, clean and with a thoughtful range of breakfast supplies.

United KingdomNothing that I can think of.
The breakfast selection provided was varied and had plenty of options for us to choose from. The room itself was comfortable and spacious and a nice place to be. It also was a very useful location for visiting my family which was my reason for being in the area.

FranceI would have preferred "servicing" of the flat each day rather than washing up ourselves.
Very pleasant conversion of a chapel into two flats. The countryside around is pleasant but flat. No walking paths from the accommodation though.

United KingdomNothing really. Somewhere to put the wet breakfast plates and dishes when they have been washed perhaps.
We booked this lovely little apartment for three nights as it was handy for the South Downs and Weald Living Museum and Portsmouth Historical Dockyard. The property conversion from an old chapel is very nicely done and was modern, warm, comfortable and very clean. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Girge to anyone thinking of visiting.

United KingdomNothing at Old Chapel Forge. Beware The Royal Oak pub; cheap but uninspiring food that was not particularly well cooked, and a restricted choice of ales. Loads of parking though, and a nice rear garden.
Our host, Maggie, was friendly and welcoming on our arrival. Parking was good, and the accommodation very clean and comfortable. An extensive continental style breakfast was provided. Old Chapel Forge is well positioned for touring the area, and there are plenty of quality eating places within a short drive. We really enjoyed our stay here, and plan to return.

United KingdomBeautiful bed but the mattress was a bit uncomfortable for us. However, this may not be the case for other people, though. Just needed a better hoovering by the side tables and the couch. A bit dusty and with some spiders and spider webs (but then again, it's countryside...)
Great location and the room was unique and very, very pretty. Loved the views, surroundings, the outdoor dining or breakfast area and the independence feeling. Great place to stay as a base to explore the area. Fantastic for two couples staying or 4 friends. Well supplied in-room breakfast. We will definitely come back, if we visit this region again.

United KingdomNothing.
Text message giving access details and point of contact if required during stay, plentiful continental breakfast stock available and own small fridge in property. Parking spot adjacent to entrance making easy transfer of bags etc. Plenty of room in the accommodation with seating area well away from the bed making it seem as though you were in two rooms rather than just a bedroom. Large bathroom area. Excellent reworking of an old property that could have been lost to development.

United KingdomNothing major at all, thoroughly recommend. Take your time getting into the drive as it’s quite tight. Only 1 parking per cottage . Use what-3-words to get exact location, Apple maps took us couple of miles up the road, but thanks to great directions within welcome email we found it .
Furnishings are excellent quality, lots of thoughtful touches e.g. blanket for sitting outside, washing up liquid etc Owners are great communicators. Changed some breakfast items for our dietary needs no problem. Good info inside property. Lovely bath & shower & plenty of hot water. Beautiful countryside / surroundings.
