There wasn't anything we disliked except that we didn't have more time to spend here!

We really enjoyed The Plum and Partridge. Great place to stay. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. We also loved the village and the surrounding area. Very picturesque.

Dave and Martin were great friendly and a good home cooked breakfast .Louise was so friendly and lovely did everything she could as was Toom the owner great pub in a wonderful location ant wait to come back.

Had to ask for tea spoons, butter and sugar at breakfast as none had been put out or were available at the buffet table.

Lovely welcoming pub, room was beautiful and the food delicious. The staff were so lovely and helpful especially as they made us a breakfast to takeaway as we had to leave early on Sunday for an event.

On arrival, we were given a different room to the one we booked. Given the new room was in the pub, rather than the separate Hayloft building, it may have been quieter for our nervous dog had our original booking been maintained. We don't know why we were moved, I think they thought they were being helpful keeping us close to the back door/gardens (which was true & appreciated). However, our dog was disturbed by noise & therefore did bark a bit through the night (which disturbed our sleep). On arrival in our room, we were not provided with a wi-fi code, nor any instructions about breakfast arrangements or confirmation of check out time. No information whatsoever, which was a bit surprising. I would have expected a written note, to help us plan our stay.

Lovely modern room, comfortable bed. Super rural village location, very quiet/peaceful. Only a few staff around, but very friendly. Very accommodating towards our nervous rescue dog. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, and large!

It was 35-40 min away from York, I searched "York" on booking I wasn't thinking that it'd suggest me such a far place, still it's 15-20 mins away from the Park & Ride. This is definitely not hotels fault though, booking needs to change their algorithm. The only thing I could say, I wish we had better view, the room was looking at roof. But still, it's alright.

Hotel is in a quite little town, more like a boutique hotel/ luxury pub. Food was very good. Cocktails was delicious. Breakfast was awesome. Staff was friendly. Room was very clean. Everything was perfect. If you want to country side escape, you're in the right place.

A very minor gripe, but the pillows could have been better quality.

Every one of the staff team were so friendly, pleasant and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel very welcome. The room was very comfortable and the location was amazing.

The only negative was the fact the room was very cold on arrival, as the radiators were turned off. Only booked that lunchtime, but would have expected the room to be checked before I arrived

we felt there could be more comfy seating in the bar area - it was mainly set up to accommodate diners, so wasn’t that cosy where we sat for afternoon drinks. but this was a very minor thing. It will be especially great in the summer, with outside spaces and stunning scenery.

Arrived Saturday afternoon, beautiful quiet location with friendly and welcoming staff. Our room was spotless, warm and comfortable and the entire place was beautifully decorated throughout. We had a few drinks in the bar and desserts as we'd eaten in York and all was delicious. The bed was really comfortable and we slept really well. Breakfast was delicious and again the staff were friendly and nothing was to much trouble. Highly recommended would love to revisit with our dog and walk the local area.

The location was excellent in a lovely quiet village not far to travel to main attractions in the area. Had a lovely walk around Sutton Bank and visited Thirsk and Helmsley. The room was very clean and comfortable. It was the nicest dog friendly room I’ve ever stayed in. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent.
