Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomRoom quite small, wet room impractical, noisy due to either delivery vehicle activity or in our example a lot of noisy people. Secondary glazing to sound proof needs to be considered
Located just 50m from beach! Amazing location, beautiful views.

United KingdomTiny room and sea glimpses even though paid over £200 for a superior room and sea view. Definitely NOT like the pictures! Also (but not the hotel's fault) emergency road works opposite our window had cutting saws, chatting workmen and small roller digging out and then filling in a hole at 2am!
Great location on the sea front, fabulous helpful staff, excellent food. Was to be a wish list romantic night away in a beautiful seaside town.

United KingdomIt was overpriced for what it was
The sea view - although the window was tiny- I had hoped the sea view would be easier to see! It was out of a tiny window up high in the corner of the room. You had to stand to look out of it.

I was very pleased with the room and decor. It was quirky and stylish. We were welcomed well by the staff who were helpful however when we came to dinner in the evening it was disappointing. We were put in the side room and were the only people in there, then the staff started dragging furniture around to set up for break fast (7.30pm!). We asked to move outside and the member of staff was helpful and moved us and then told us that it was bar service which was not a problem however we waited over an hour for our main course which arrived after i had queried where it was and it had clearly been sitting under a heat lamp for some time. Disappointing as the other elements of our stay we great .

United KingdomRooms were on the cosy side and the walls were very thin - we could hear the neighbours snoring all night. No local parking so we had to carry bags but only 10 minute walk

United KingdomNo cooked breakfast available. Ordered 2 things for Friday evening meal and told both not available. Booked a king suite, but room was very small about 9ft x9ft with very little storage space, couldn’t use toilet without getting wet feet if shower had been used. Parking was a pain, 10 minutes uphill walk for closest long stay as max 2 hrs in closer car parks with no return in 4hrs
Great location, comfortable bed and clean room with a good view

United KingdomThe room was only just big enough for the bed. There is no parking nearby, it's a 10 minute walk uphill. They weren't offering cooked breakfast - we got a £20 refund for this, but they would only do it in the morning after we had assessed the continental breakfast offering and rejected it, which was a bit annoying. And they offered my wife a coffee while she waited for the room to be ready (I was parking the car), then charged her £4 for it!

United KingdomThere was a general lack of understanding about customer service from the staff. The manager and the front of house team need to understand that the hospitality industry is about being hospitable. There was almost of feeling of being in the way whenever we were in the RockPoint. Small things like leaving luggage for a few hours after the very early 10.30am Sunday check out time - really not keen and made it as uncomfortable as possible. Breakfast finishing at 10amon Sunday morning (and not much left by 9.30am). If charging hotel prices, you need to offer some basic hotel service.

United KingdomEverything was fairly poor, the room was tiny and the hallway leading to the room was dirty, the dirty towels from the previous guests were left in the room, and the breakfast was fairly bog standard fair. Each time we ordered a coffee it was delivered partly spilled in the saucer, it was vastly overpriced as the service and facilities we got were really only for a very average B&B, where as the place build it self as an upmarket destination. No parking was available at the hotel which should have been stated
The location of the hotel was good

United KingdomPrice....even for sea front accommodation. Access to room, very steep and narrow stairs. Would not be suitable for very aged, infirm or very young. Parking!! Although at booking the accommodation states no on site parking....we had to park at the top of the town and walk down and back up on departure. And the hill is steep! The Rock Pool should have reserved parking in the lower car parks for guests. No problem about paying for parking if not on site but in Lyme Regis where parking is an issue it should NOT be a free for all to find parking for PR guests!

United KingdomMany items on the evening dinner menu were unavailable. The quality of the breakfast was disappointing and there was a muddle up with the order, which I felt was due to a member of staff not being very focussed. Poor quality coffee.
