Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

The room was smaller than expected, and it felt like only one person could get dressed. The toilet space got very wet after showering air con/heater turned itself on and off when it liked, even when we manually turned it off completely.
The location was perfect for us. We like a quiet evening away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to jump on a tube! The bed was very comfortable, shower was brilliant good power. Ample wardrobe space

No need to offer a breakfast at 20£ if there is a Sainsbury 2min away. Rooms are not well sound isolated with the corridor
Location pretty good including late arrival from the airport. Free cocktail vs no sheet/towel change in 3 days is nice! Possibility to have tea and coffee at any time

A cooked breakfast offering would be wonderful. My room didn't have an external window but I was aware of that at the booking stage.
I didn't have the breakfast but it looked a good array of continental breakfast type products. The location is superb for me.

The coffee and tea being in the corridor was a little frustrating but wouldn't stop me staying again.
Excellent room facilities. Bluetooth speaker and could stream to the TV. Really clean and loved the styling.

For me an English cooked breakfast should always be on offer which is why I only gave it a 9/10. But that's my personal preference not for everyone.
Friendly and helpful staff, excellent quality of furnishings and food/beverages. Room was ample size with brilliant shower/toilet facilities. Bed was comfortable and air con worked.

We booked the cosy room which was smaller than expected but still had everything you would need
Property was modern and very clean. Special shout out to Ben, Luigi and Mickel they were amazing Mickel helped us transfer somethings from the hotel into our car which was unexpected and so helpful.

Ruby Stella in London offers a fantastic experience with a friendly and attentive staff. The location is both convenient and comfortable, perfect for exploring the city. The breakfast is abundant, and there’s a great selection of drinks available. A nice touch is the ability to leave your luggage on the last day, and the open bar with herbal teas adds extra comfort to the stay.

Lack of in-room drinks. Appreciate the ethos but a bottle of still water as a min would have be good. Cost of vending machine was extortionate.

I liked everything
I was there only for two nights so it was perfect for the short stay. Super comfy bed, everything was very clean, which are the two most important things for me when I travel. The location is perfect too, nice restaurants and also mini supermarket near by.

Unfortunately someone opened my door on the second morning of my stay. Unsure if this was housekeeping, but I wasn't due to check out yet.
Fantastic welcome from Neale, he was very attentive for my whole stay. Great bar for working in and drinks. Location was quiet as off the main street. Rooms are small but great for solo travel. Nice toiletries.
