Our stay at the Rusty Duck was absolutely perfect. Alex and Simon couldn’t be more informative before you arrive, which made travelling/finding the retreat easy and simple. Even down to the details/booklet inside- really great hosts. The hut itself is beautiful and spotless. The outside area is lovely, especially when the sun goes down and the fairy lights come on. Bella the dog was an added bonus for us too! We only stayed for one night and it felt like a complete reset for us, it was so relaxing and quiet compared to our normally very busy household. We will definitely be returning in the near future!

Absolutely nothing. My stay was perfect.

The atmosphere was so peaceful and refreshing especially being able to look out across the pond during sunrises and sunsets and being so quiet I was able to listen and connect with the beautiful nature that surrounded. The hut itself was very cozy and perfect for solo getaways or couples retreat.

As soon as you arrive at The Rusty Duck it makes you feel at peace. It’s incredible that the hut has all the modern facilities and comfort of home in one small space. The host are fantastic and the place was so clean. If you need to unwind or have a very cosy comfortable place to stay , this is it. Can’t wait to book again.

There were no faults , we loved everything

We had an excellent stay for my birthday. Lovely and peaceful and the hut was so cosy. We was luckily enough to have a little bit of snow which made it even more magical. Can't wait to return especially in the summer so we can make use of the bbq and outside space more.

Nothing!

This hut was in a beautiful location and surroundings and sufficiently out of sight from the main home on the land maintaining privacy. There is a great little outside bbq area which we want to come back and test out in the summer time and of course it’s set on the lovely pond. There was everything to hand inside that you could possibly want and it was very warm, comfy and cosy. Bed was extremely comfy and was good for the two of us. The owners are extremely good with comms and answering any questions and happily set out banners and rose petals for my partners bday ❤️ They have a lovey chocolate lab and she popped over to say Hi which the owners had pre-notified us of and asked us to let them know if we did not want to be visited by her, but of course we did want to! Can’t wait to come back next summer!

No shot glasses lol. Could do with an extra couple towels as I have long hair and useful to have two. A hairdryer also. I didn't want to write in here as the place is the most perfect I ve ever stayed in couldn't ask for better and certainly going to be back.. Thank u so much x

The property has 2 hobs and an air fryer, would of been great to have a small oven but I guess there are plenty of nice places to eat nearby or grab a takeaway and didn’t really bother us.

This beautiful cosy hut is truly a gem, its location and attention to detail to decor inside and cleanliness is amazing. The location and views of the lake and fields makes you feel a million miles away. Will be returning again the owners were great at replying to messages and even decorated with Rose petals free of charge big thanks for a fantastic little pre xmas getaway 👍

Lack of ducks but we did go in October but saw a few herons

A small slice of heaven that just melted the stress away. Perfect location and easy to access. Bella, the dog, was the perfect host paying us regular tail wagging visits. The air fryer provided was perfect for an entire chicken! Hosts were very attentive, and any problems/questions we had were sorted very, very fast. Had great fun feeding the greedy fish in the pond.

Very quiet and romantic! We visited for my partners birthday ( the host even helped with putting up decorations!) The pond was beautiful and I loved being about to feed the fish. There was a bbq and fire pit which we also loved. Bed was extremely comfortable and everything you could need for a few nights!. Pub only down the road if you didn’t want to have a bbq or cook! :)

The shepherd's hut was absolutely gorgeous and every little detail really carefully thought through to create a really welcoming, comfortable and luxurious feeling space. The decking overlooking the pond was absolutely lovely and it felt very private even though you are essentially at the end of the host's garden- it's huge so you're really very secluded. We also really enjoyed the firepit and spent a lovely evening sitting around that with drinks. The highlight was the very friendly and lovely Bella the lab! :)
