Great location close to Knaresborough and not far from Leeds and Harrogate. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent meals served throughout the day from breakfast through to dinner. The accommodation is very comfortable with modern en suites.

Set in a very pretty village. A real, proper village pub. Our suite was very comfortable and spacious, with very pleasant decor and well equipped. The shower was great, with instant hot water. All the food was really good and reasonably priced. Served very hot on hot plates!

A really lovely stay to celebrate our 63rd Wedding anniversary ❤️. The room was delightful, very clean and lovely extra touches (robes and hospitality tray). All of the staff were very friendly. A big thankyou to Liz, Amanda and the two young waitresses. A special thanks to the Chef 👩‍🍳 . The food both at breakfast and dinner was super 👌. This Chef should be given a Michelin star 🌟. Hope for a return visit soon. Very best wishes to all the staff.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Shoulder of Mutton . We were made most welcome and our bedroom was one if the nicest we have stayed in. It was really comfortable and characterful abd we loved the underfloor heating in thd bathroom. We enjoyed our evening mrals snd breakfast was beautifully cooked. The meals are served in a really characterful bar area.

Stayed here New Year’s Eve. The staff were very friendly, and couldn’t do enough for you. The breakfast was outstanding. The rooms were lovely, and amazing attention to detail. Would highly recommend this place.

We booked one of the suites in the courtyard, it was lovely, real comfy large bed, everything you needed in the apartment, and a lovely little patio area too. All the staff and owners are really lovely, courteous, friendly and can't do enough for you. Nice quiet area even beside the pub. We will definitely be back!!

Can you alter the light switch to the bathroom. It would appear that the electrician has installed a switching unit which does not recognize night time entry. Rather awkward for the other sleeping person which the other is using the W.C.

Nothing - it was really brilliant

We were so pleased with our stay and it far exceeded any expectations we had. The room felt really cozy and luxurious with underfloor heating everywhere, a massive and comfortable bed and lots of lovely added extras like the refreshments in the room and products in the bathroom and robes on the door. And breakfast was a 10/10. It is so rare to go somewhere where they actually make the breakfast from scratch rather than using powdered egg or frozen everything. The homemade granola was amazing and we really looked forward to our bespoke cooked breakfast each day. They could not do enough for us and were so friendly - it is incredibly good value for money.

It was in a beautiful little village Pub was historic 14th century Staff very welcoming Food was amazing Breakfast was super plenty of choice The rooms were amazing so cosy everything you needed and extra little touches were so lovely they are better than the Hilton staff were so friendly and helpful it was like we were visiting friends not in a B &B Kate and Ruchard have put a lot of love into each room
