The Smithy Cottage was lovely and I definitely will return. We have family in the area and it was the perfect spot for us. I bought my mum and dad and it was perfect.

    It was perfect!

Beautiful village with the cottage looking out over the village square. The cottage offered everything we needed with highlights being the two large bedrooms, sunny courtyard garden and well appointed kitchen. We loved the setting and the easy access to Faverersham, Canterbury and Whitstable. The village came complete with its own manor house, Norman church, two pubs and a village shop. No wonder it's been setting for a Miss Marple mystery!

    There wasn't anything.

The cottage was absolutely beautiful. Ideal for us as a little getaway. Everything you needed was there and the pub across the road was amazing. Colt was a joy to meet.

Lovely village, quiet location, comfy beds, well equipped kitchen. A great little garden outside with seating to relax in the sun and the pub across the square had brilliant live music each night we were there!

Absolutely beautiful cottage! I booked this cottage for me and my parents and we loved it! Wish we could've stayed longer. The cottage is restored so beautifully and immaculately clean. The beds are so so comfortable, and the kitchen has everything you need. We loved all of the old photographs of the village and the cottage. The cottage is perfectly situated for a visit to Canterbury and the surrounding areas. We absolutely loved staying and want to go back rather sooner than later. Two nights was just not enough to enjoy the cottage and everything the area has to offer

There was a great deal of noise from the pub on Saturday night, but the following nights were much quieter. On the plus side, the pub was very welcoming.

The house was very comfortable with superb beds. Great location, handy to visit Canterbury I would certainly book this cotrage again.

Because of the size of the kitchen it was lacking a dishwasher.

Charming little cottage in the village square, excellent courtyard garden. All amenities within easy walking distance (pub, resteraunt, wine bar) all reasonably priced.

The square is a car park that was nearly full all the time we were there, so parking could be tight.

A pub with nice food and a quaint little tea room were just across the village square. The cottage is in a picture postcard village that is well placed for visiting all of East Kent.

If it would be possible we would give the Smithy Cottage 11/10 rating! The owner Michelle takes care of the guests with with love and an extreme eye for detail. The welcome cookies, the shower soaps and the soft and fresh linen for the comfortable beds. There was plenty of information and tips for her guests. The location is superb on the old square of the charming village Chilham, opposite of the White Horse, very traditional pub and over 600 years old.
