over priced restaurant, we expected good pub food for the type of accommodation but it was very expensive fancy food, not in keeping with the place.

The walls must be very thin as we were woken early in the morning hearing adjacent rooms talking and walking around on very creaky floors.

Very welcoming staff, great atmosphere in the bar and enjoyable food. The pub is in a great position in a lovely quiet village for a stopover being about 15 minutes from the motorway.

food wasn’t available on the night I booked which was a major disappointment, however I realise this can’t be helped sometime. the wifi didn’t work well enough to operate a teams call, and the bar was closed at 9:30

Overwhelming smell of bleach cleaning products - had to prop door and windows open because it was making me feel ill. Damp and signs of mould in the room. Very small room. Restaurant VERY expensive. Hotel stay expensive for what you get.

Bar and restaurant had a very cosy atmosphere. Comfy bed. Good choice of breakfast.

The hotel reception was almost impossible to found it. We found it because another guest helped us. We booked a table at the restaurant for 7pm , we were sat at 7pm, ordered straightaway as we knew that the kitchen will close at 8:30pm. After waiting 1 hour, we asked what was happening and within 1 min received our meals that the food was cold, over cook and dry. Very disappointing. As well, from our room in the top of the hotel we could hear all the loud activity in the bar. Not much sleep.

the noise in my room was unbelievable. I heard every word from outside my room and from the bar. was awoken just before midnight because of the noise from the staff closing up. the room had really dusty bedside lamps and round the skirting boards.

The standard of the rooms did not match the standard of the pub sadly. Very, very basic and dated. Rusty radiator, a shower that only trickled and pillows that resembled rocks. I would not like to stay again, very disappointing.

The pub was exceptional, loved it. Beautiful, warm, friendly. The chef has to be commended, the food was delightful. The staff were just lovely, very friendly and extremely helpful. The fires were lit which helped the beautiful ambiance and the locals were all very pleasant. Would highly recommend the pub/restaurant and would love to visit again.

room was small, basic and tired with a quilt barely big enough to cover a double bed. , The food & drinks are expensive with limited selection of wines/beers. My choice of Liver & Bacon had undercooked liver and overcooked bacon and cost £19 ..not good value at all

The bar where the meals were served was loud and boisterous and not at all the atmosphere expected of an Inn in a peaceful village. The meal and the service was, however very good.

Room was tastefully decorated and luxurious bathroom. Breakfast was busy but well organised and the food was good.

The room was fine but pretty basic - lack of surfaces on which to put your things or case. Shower a bit tight.

Staff were all excellent, including those just learning the ropes, all really considerate and helpful. If you like good food in generous helpings, you will like this place too. We used it as an overnight stop on a long journey - easy to get to from the motorway, and good to find a quiet and restful location, and a pub with character and warm fires.

The staff was excellent, had a wonderful pub/restaurant right on the property and we had an excellent dinner and wonderful breakfast. Really enjoyed our stay!

The bathroom was rather awkwardly proportioned with a fixed shower screen making access difficult. There was also an overhead projection making it difficult to enter the bath without banging your head . In addition, a shower was the only option as the plug did not fit and the bath would not hold water.

For the price and star rating expected rooms to be of a better standard. Shower fan was extremely noisy. Squeaky bed and floorboards hard to sleep when people walking in hall. Music very loud. Food very pricey.

Location was lovely. Looked amazing from outside. Staff were friendly.
