I was disappointed in the breakfast buffet choice of cereals, fresh and dried fruit, etc, but the people having full English breakfast were very happy! We knew at the time of booking that our room would be small with a double bed, but we would have liked the option to book a bigger room with a king-sized bed. That said, the room was clean, warm, comfortable, and well appointed.

We were attending a family event being held in the hotel, so the location was perfect with on-site parking. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Rooms clean and warn. Excellent Sunday lunch.

Cobwebs on the ceiling dust on the head board behind the bedside table dirt on the shower the plug hole in the shower was really bad good job it was just a night away !!!!@@@ very disappointed

Room was very small, very bad signs to get to the room. The room was away from main hotel in a separate building. Only 1 very small shampoo in shower. And no bed made paying £171 pound for room only 2 night seemed a lot of money for what I was given

The room was freezing when we arrived. Coffee/tea tray was basic with wooden spoons. Breakfast add on was expensive. It was a noisy corridor with workers showering at 0500 and walking past the room around 0300 and between 0600-0630. Being a very old building the room even shook when some people walked past so not much sleep.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Location was exactly where we needed. The full English breakfast was superbly cooked and presented. The room was clean. It’s a quaint characterful old hotel.

We were in the annexe which meant going out of the hotel into another building up the street. Lots of stairs which you are not warned about. Fine for us but we had elderly relatives with us who did struggle somewhat. The room could have been cleaner - the blinds on the window were covered in a drink or something similar, the grouting in the shower was mouldy and the bin had food or drink spills down the front. The electric shower was a bit pathetic as poor pressure made it dribble out. Not much of a car park for such a large hotel. All that being said, we got what we paid for and it was only for an overnight stay.

We could have used more bins in the room and more shelves and towel hooks in the bathroom; also the double windows in the room don’t quite keep out the wind when it’s strong. Also the front door to the annexe where we were is quite hard to open

Thd Evening meal was really good.. excellent value for money.

Not particularley good products. Tea and coffee was only Luke warm.. fruit selection very poor only apples on offer. Not good value for money.

One room allocated to our party was already occupied which the duty staff were unaware of. This caused quite a commotion but another room wss allocated. Front door to rooms was a tad difficult to open which left you feeling slightly vulnerable whilst outside at night.

We didn't have breakfast at the property. Tbis was offered as an extra. Food had by others looked nice. Room was basic but had everything required and was clean.

The fact each part of the evening meal and drinks had to be paid for as each was ordered rather than all together at the end was frustrating.

We were the only ones having breakfast and we had to offer all off the menu as no cold buffet available. The meals were well cooked and good quality sausage and bacon.

The room was very cold when we arrived so we had to turn on the radiator and find the electric fire in the wardrobe to heat it up. When the room is made ready for a guest the radiator should be turned on automatically so it is warm on arrival. On one of the outer doors to the hotel the return spring had failed so unless people made an effort to fully close the door it stayed open causing a draught letting out the warmed air.

The breakfast was nicely cooked and presented with an adequate choice. The staff were very helpful and this was our second visit in a few days and it was remembered that we wanted decaffeinated tea so it was in our room and at breakfast.

bed mattresses was very bad in one of the rooms (no. 324), but the Reception were great and changed the room to another one for the 2nd night. Was surprised with the check out time of 10am (bit earlier than most places we've been), and then the charge to stay another hour of £10 per room, thought that was a bit excessive!

great location and friendly, helpful staff. Rooms were clean and a good size. breakfast was good too, with plenty of choice. overall a lovely place to stay and we were happy with it.

The carpet in our room had a massive stain which was very noticable when we walked into the room it was very unpleasant to see and one could not avoid having to walk on it and it certainly was too big to be a drink spillage as well there was a brown stain on the bottom side of the bed just under the mattress which was very off putting. As we were staying for 1 night and were running late meeting friends didn't ask for a room change on that occasion. Very disappointed with the unhygienic room in view of it being highly rated it spoilt it for us big time.

Very limited parking for the size of the hotel. Room was in the annex so we had to walk outside along the street. A few tiles cracked in bathroom. Shower not very powerful.
